Tell me why buying a Rifle chambered in 6MM Remington is stupid

I hope to use this rifle for some outwest long distance shots in the near future, where are you in Minnesota you may have told me in the past but my memory is crap
Young America, maybe 15 miles from you...

Thats close, I work at Crown College in St Bonnie

Nice rig !!
Good luck with it .

It's a lovely Ruger, it reminds me of my .223!

I'll tell you Eric there not Real Fancy but have a clean look to them and seem to be extremely well built

I remember mine was really tight and hard to cycle. I shot like 100 rounds through it and then it cycled very nice. Accuracy was exceptional! It loved Sierra bullets!!!

My action feels New not stiff I figure I have all winter to cycle the bolt to break it in, And yea I have Sierras on Menu

Don't forget the Hornady 100 gr. Interlocks BTSP. They shoot great out of my Ruger in 6mm and killed more deer and antelope then I can remember. Whatever you load pay attention to the seating depth, most of my Rugers have very long throats and the bullets need to be seated out a bit to get the best accuracy.
Good luck with your new rifle, I've had her twin for years and she is a beaut, just like yours.

Nice pick up. I am not a 6mm fan (270 fan:D) but if I was going to have a 6mm it would be the 6mmRem. Now go out and put it to good use.(y)
Brass and Bullets arrived Dec 27 so all I have to do is wait for spring

Since my last two rifles were a 7x57 last year and a 257 Roberts this year, I don't think the stupid word would apply. I've been ordering reloading supplies as well in order to reach the full potential of the rounds as opposed to the factory stuff, especially with the Mauser.

why wait for spring do it now.
I'm just not a fan of cold weather why the hell I moved to Minnesota from Balmy Chicago is still a Mystery to me,but my garage has a heater so I may brave the cold and give it a try, Midway has a fresh supply of 6mm brass and I just ordered some 100g Sierras so who knows

Balmy Chicago! LOL, that's a good one. You really need to get busy. That stuff may not have a shelf life, but it will start to feel neglected.

Neglected, Never thought of that, it's a warm 24 here in Chaska so maybe I'll polish the brass and punch some primers

I feel for you. It's 58 & drizzling down here. I'm not much ahead of you with working up some 180 gr '06 loads.

14F and snowing here, rather warm for the end of Dec. I heat some gel packs to body temp and place them in a small cooler with the ammo for at least 20min. That way you can be sure that there won't be any nasty surprises resulting from cold weather load development. Living in the great white north all my life has taught me all the tricks. BTW one of those insulated hunting cushions makes for a more comfortable range session.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
