U.S Election reactions

Now watch, after they all leave like they promised, Canada will build a wall to keep anymore of these self important, over indulgent, spoiled losers from crossing over. Did you see how hard Miley cried?

Maybe Miley and PM Trudeau can hug each other and cry together over the death of Castro. I have a little better idea why some of those folks think they will fit in with the Canadian government now than I did earlier.

Trudeau's father had a soft spot for the most despotic dictatorships and Trudeau II is no better. Our real Prime Minister Gerald Butts is a radical enviro wienie and an avowed Marxist. Boy do we have a bunch of winners running or should I say ruining the country

worst than our past garbage?

worst than our past garbage?

No worse but far more dangerous because the Canadian system doesn't have your checks and balances. A majority government here is a virtual dictatorship

I still grin every time I think about it. Most importantly, our Supreme Court will not be packed with far left radicals, hopefully. I also hope/believe we will make some strides in regaining our 2nd Amendment rights. Silencers OFF the NFA, maybe short barreled rifles off the NFA as well. The Hughes amendment needs to be repealed. Just for starters.

We need to hold Trump's feet to the fire to keep him on track, but I think he'll do fine if he listens to his sons. They seem pretty legit sportsmen and patriots.

I see Jill Stein is positioning herself to fill the void in the DemonRats party being vacated by the current batch that are leaving following their continued and drawn out humiliation.

But unlike your DemonRat predecessor, don't make us come after all of your guests that stole the silverware and dishes after Slick's going away party.

It's because the president is actually elected by what's called the electoral college. In each state each political party selects "electors", people that will become members of the electoral college. The electors are proportioned to the states based on the number of senators and representatives each state has. Then in the general election, what took place on Nov 8, the vote determined in the winner-take-all states, which group of electors would become part of the electoral college, generally Republican or Demonrat but also possible for Socialist, Independent, Green or whatever. Some states break it down to districts so a state could have a split vote. Due to past problems of electors being selected to represent one party, then going to the college (they don't actually go anywhere- they stay in their state and transmit their vote) and casting their vote for someone else, some states, last I checked, 29 enacted laws requiring an elector to vote as per the intention of the voters. So what's happening now is some diehard Demonrats are intent on subverting the electoral system by getting some of the electors from the 21 states where they are not required by law to vote as directed. I don't know how many of the 21 states have electors designated to vote for the Republican candidate. But the president isn't officially elected until 270 electoral votes are cast on Dec 19. The Republicans have been amused by all of the contortions exhibited by the Demonrats, but one thing is certain, if a sufficient number of electors jumped ship and caused the result to be either Hitlary getting 270 or more likely, no one getting 270 & the election going to the House of Representatives for an election of president, those electors that subverted the election process would have Hell to pay. Their names, addresses and other information is publicly available and they will be the focus point of division as never seen in America since 1861.

I posted a while back why I hoped that Trump would win. I am glad to see that he now has control of the White House and will hopefully bring about the change we need. BTW, that should have been Romney's slogan in 2012: "The Change We Need." Anyway, I am extremely excited about General James Mattis and Rex Tillerson getting appointments. Both men are supremely qualified to serve the country. I am also optimistic about Steve Mnuchin.

With that said, I am uncomfortable with how friendly Trump seems to be getting with Russia and China, as well as his waffling on the wall. I will be happy if he just sticks it to Russia, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. I am also worried about the prospects of a Trump presidency (looking at you, Jeff Sessions) leading to a regression in abortion, marijuana, and gay rights. Trump needs to stay focused on the economy, foreign relations/trade, border security, and gun rights.

I wouldn't say he has been too friendly with China, he did take a call from the "rebel nation" of Taiwan. Which hasn't been done in like 40 years.

As far as Russia goes, I don't think he is necessarily being friendly, he is just not being an ass and preaching to them. Remember Obama's hot mic comment where he told the then PM after the election I will be able to do more, not an exact quote but you get the idea. I think it comes down to a few key point for Trump and Russia. 1) He wants to leverage them to help with ISIS 2) He doesn't care about Crimea 3) We need to get closer with Russia to bully China. That's pretty much it. This of course is my opinion based on his statements, but I think the closeness with Russia is a left way of making him seem like a boogie man and trying to get republicans on board.

These are good points and I certainly hope you are right. However, I do not trust Russia. I believe Putin is a communist dictator trying to rebuild the USSR. He is in no way an ally to the west right now and I am not sure he ever will be, regardless of Trump's schmoozing.

ok thanks for that explanation, as didnt have a clue all the way through this what the electoral college was that kept being mentioned :D Beers:

Well, DT did send a message to "tell Vlad I'll have more flexibility after the election".

Oops, sorry, I forgot,
that was our Imposter in Chief in 2012 that said that!

I am happier than a pig in shit! Even if he does a terrible job it will be 10000X better than Hillary!
