Any thoughts on what HEYM new rifle is?

Nice looking rifle but so much for Sabatti pricing. Back to checking garage sales for my double rifle.

I'm sure Heym is not willing to risk their reputation by putting something cheap on the market. Unfortunately, it costs money (lots) to get it right.

Wonder what the pricing is going to be on these?

From matt85:

"that rifle looks like its probably the 450/400 NE that was at the shoot. I might as well spill the beans a bit about pricing since they've released photos. the rifle in the picture (if its the same gun) was quoted to us at around $26,000-$26,500, this rifle had "grade 2" engraving and exhibition grade wood. my own personal rifle was quoted to me at around $24,500 (similar rifle but without upgraded wood). we were told the model 88b will still be offered as the "PH" line for a more "affordable" rifle."

And here I thought they were going to become the 1756th manufacturer to start making AR15-style rifles.
Agree, just what we need is some more AR-15s!

It makes me wonder if the rifle laser engraved or hand engraved. Here's to hoping that it's the latter.

Thanks for posting the video, and thanks to all for the compliments on the rifle. We have worked very hard on it, and we are very proud of the end result. Here are a few answers to some of the posted questions:

> Engraving. There is no laser engraving on any HEYM 88 or 89 double rifle. Serial numbers are CNC engraved on the action and water table, but ALL external markings/engravings on the 89B are done by hand. This was a requirement for this model.

> Unlike the 88B, there will be no "PH" / unengraved version available for the 89B. The 89B will have to leave the factory with either the #1 engraving pattern (least coverage) or with case colors at a minimum.

> Price-wise, the 89 is a little more expensive than the 88. You will find the base model 89 to fit between the "PH" grade and the "Safari" grade (assuming you're familiar with the 88 lineup.) That means there is a target for the base model 89 under 20K, but as more engraving, nicer wood, etc... are added, the price will naturally increase.

We will release more details on the rifle over the next few weeks.

personally i dont feel this is overpriced, the only company i think that can compare to Heym is VC and the prices arent vastly different. the only thing VC does that really beats Heym is VC will make you a 577 or 600 NE for practically the same price as a 500.

I agree, it's not overpriced (assuming, of course, the build quality is up to snuff). I'd take one over a VC any day, no hesitation.

Welcome Chris. Can you share more images so that we can see the proportions and details?

The case colored version is really elegant. Wish I could come up with an excuse to own one.

would like to see a photo of one finished like that, and i know the feeling.......photo of a case coloured one could be bad for me and that naughty monkey on the shoulder........:E Big Grin:
