Looking to see what lioness hunts are available for export to the USA. What do you have when is best time to hunt? Pricing as well.

Is your plan to have it held in Africa in the hopes USFWS changes its position on lion imports?

No I want to hunt outside of SA. As I understand ruling is for SA only

No cause if you shoot and leave if they reverse harvest date will be during ban which would disqualify it for import so I want to stay out of SA . I will doo a lot of research before I book cause I'm not going to pay a higher fee on a maybe.

Hmm, finding any lioness hunt outside of RSA I think will be challenging.

I think Zimbabwe has some Lioness hunts available.

John Sharp. CMS. Chifuti. Martin Pieters? Just to name a few.

I forgot to mention, that you should check with @James Jeffrey - HuntingAgent.com
. He is the official booking agent of AH. Maybe he has an outfitter in Zim that can provide a Lioness hunt?

A Zim hunt will be considerably more expensive than SA.

I hunted buffalo with John Sharp in 2015 in the Bubye Valley Conservancy (880,000 acres) in Zim and saw lots of lions. The trophy fee then for a lioness was a little over $5k. However the dayrate for DG and the minimum number of days (I'm guessing 14 days is the min) will run the total cost into the $25 to 30k range.

As I read the new rules, the only lion currently importable to the US are wild lions from RSA, everything else is still under review. We can set up a hunt in the NE where there is till a good population of wild lions. The prices are going to be much higher than a ranch lion hunt.

@375 Ruger Fan I hunted the Bubye valley back when it was still Lemco. What an awesome place and John Sharp is a gentleman, top shelf PH and just a standup guy.

Lion Ruling

On October 20, Director of US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) Dan Ashe announced the decision regulating the import of sport-hunted lion trophies under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) from South Africa. The United States will not allow the import of lion trophies taken from captive lion populations in South Africa. However, wild and wild-managed lions from South Africa will receive import permits.

Safari Club International and the hunting community has been waiting for a decision on which range nations would be approved to import lion hunting trophies to the United States since USFWS listed the African lion under the ESA in December 2015.

As for other lion-range countries, Ashe says USFWS is still reviewing permit applications for those areas. The four African nations, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, will only receive permits to import sport hunted lion trophies if USFWS receives sufficient evidence of the long term benefits to their wild lion populations.
