Any thoughts on what HEYM new rifle is?

Should be something interesting. looking forward to the official announcement

On another forum there are a couple guys reporting they've shot this new gun. One of these saying that DR owners that know they're looking at will be pleased.

In the video, price point is mentioned. So maybe a DR priced to compete with Sabatti?

I saw photos of the new double rifle about six months ago. Styling is very much (and very deliberately) classic English boxlock. My impression was that the price would be in the range of their current line rather than a Sabatti.

Thanks guys! Any idea on the calibers that will be offered? @Red Leg where did you get a chance to see pictures of this new DR.

If it's going to be OFFICIALLY introduced in November, no doubt we'll get to fondle one in Dallas. @Red Leg , now that I own my first box lock, they are coming at me from all directions, if your description of the new Heym is correct! A DR is the only type of serious hunting rifle I don't own now, but am saving my pennies and will be looking at Tulsa and Champlin, and of course at DSC!

On the QT from an unnamed representative of an unnamed German firearms company (other than Krieghoff) in an undisclosed location near a large metropolitan area in North Central Texas. :)

Dang Red, you running for office? ;):)

Show us the rifle! Any pictures or videos, it's November let the wait be over already.

Supposedly these are pics of the rifle, don't ask me to confirm, just going off a post on another website.

It sure looks English to me, as the guys in the video commented, and looks very early 20th century. I just don't have enough experience to know, or really just guess anymore than that. I feel pretty confident though that if this rifle will sell in the price range of a Sabatti, Heym will not be able to make them fast enough for the U.S. market! Hopefully we will all know very soon!

It is English, as in George Gibbs, of Bristol (of .505 Gibbs fame).

Beat me to it. Nice old rifle though.

CT, I guess someone is making a bad joke. I know of George Gibbs of the .505 Gibbs caliber, but not nearly enough to identify his old rifle production.

Surely you jest!

I never jest, way to formal. What you should have said was, "You're shittin' me!" That would be far more accurate. I had my doubts too as the rifle looks way too old, but hey it made for a laugh.

One last thing though:

@PHOENIX PHIL well played.

Also, the rifle says George Gibbs on the side. .. kind of a give away unless the surprise announcement is that Heym is buying the rights to old English double company names.

I'm still hoping for that sabatti priced double!

Now that I take time to look, right there to see.

It's basically a Birmingham trade boxlock that ended its pre-procurement life in the premises of George Gibbs. You'll see the same (exact same) rifle with the name of any number of other gun houses etched into its metal.
