I don't think it's 7.62x54r but 8x56r may be a good shout. I was thinking 8x50r but the shoulder in the photo is so long and shallow I don't know.

I think you're right with 8x56r.

I would say 8x56r. Especially when you look at this photo. 30-06 on left. 8x56r on right.

No if only someone can guess mine from earlier....

Its a real cartridge, I didn't make it up.
