I have begun my booking process with T&C and am doing my "Due Dilligence" in looking for and talking to references. I have been on many hunts around the world, and after a few bad expereinces, I like to make sure I check out others expereinces before I spend the time and money. So, if you have any personal experiences hunting with T&C, please share what you will with me. If you prefer not to post your experiences online, please send me a message to contact you direclty and I can give you my email information or we can talk on the phone.

Thank you,

Roger

Good luck Roger! Did you try putting them in the search section to see what comes up?

I've not hunted with them. However, take a look at Craig Boddington's endorsement. I doubt you'll have a problem.

If you do a search I think you will get your answer. As an aside I would not pay any attention on an endorsement from any celebrity. They hunt for free and are generally treated difrently than a reqular client.

There is a thread here from 2014 of the Black Rhino cow shooting debacle in Namibia. T&C was involved in that mess.

Maybe someone can post a link.

Keep in mind they are South Africans doing very large amount of business in Namibia. There may be some Namibians who don't appreciate that, and may influence the association's opinions.

I did spend some time in their booth at sci and the Namibian Government officials stopped by and seemed to have a very high regard for T&C. That is different than NAPHA ....

It might be as indicate above but if they have dual citizenship as i do have in SA and Namibian...they are also Namibian...:D

It was interesting talking to them privately. Regarding the rhino, I think they did right by their client... in any case, there is two sides to every story. I don't know which is right or wrong..... truth is usually somewhere in the middle. You have to hear both sides to decide which side of middle it may be.... but I thought it worth noting the government folks seem to hold them in high regard.... I did get a very positive reference on them from what I consider a reliable source. I have not had oppertunty to have hunted with them myself.

Roger - I would not touch them with a 10 foot pole after seeing Peter's email in post #37 in this thread. I suggest you consider the outfitters that are regulars on this forum.
Yup. that is shocking. Thanks for bringing it out in this thread. I had not seen that.

I always believe there are three sides to every story..Mine, theirs and the truth. Human traits is to try to find fault elsewhere before we focus on our own faults and mistakes. With that said, I have done nothing but talk with them, and still have 13 months to get my ducks in a row. I appreciate all the responses, and any reccomendations for or agains are always appreciated. I will continue to reseaarch and do my homework, but actual experiences trump anything I can research.

Regardless of who you book with my advice is to ask lots of questions. Get the details hammered out preferably in person a the shows. Most of the trouble I've had has been from not asking enough questions ahead of time. You can not beat personal connections versus just booking by email.
I truly hope you have a great Safari!
Regards,
Philip

Hunted with T&C a few years ago,it depends if the hunt is in South Africa or Namibia I can tell you what to expect.

I don't intend hijacking this post. The statement is not true for all celebrities. Jim Shockey hunted with me numerous times , alone and with his family . He always insisted on paying , and did. I really cannot tell you honestly that I treat him differently from than any other paying client or subsequent return client.

How about a hunt report and pics?

We would love to read all about it.
