Nice looking animals! Congradulations. I love the mountain reedbuck I have tried many times to stalk one with my bow and just have not had the chance yet. They are still on my short list. Boy those are some trophy ticks also!
The grass looks green, I bet the animals looked healthy, and it made the cover a little thicker.

Thanks Swedhunter for sharing your hunt and trophy photos with us!

Congradulations, those are some fine trophies...nothing better than a monster red hartebeest, Cape eland, impala, duiker and mountain reedbuck.

Those are some nice trophies Swedhunter. My first trip to Africa was about 60 miles west of Kimberley and I have been hooked ever since.

Congrats on a fine hunt,
Feel free to share the storys of the individual stalks with us. It helps those of us not going this year to get our africa fix.

Thanks for sharing the photos, those are some very nice trophies. Congrats!

Thank you all!

I will try to write some longer stories about the stalks, but you´ll have to excuse me if my English isn't a 100% correct..

The first day had started great for my father, he had already shot a zebra and a blue wildebeest.... I had some stalks on hartebeest, but we could not get close enough. It was getting late when we found the elands, a bachelor-group of 5 bulls was standing in a big open area 400-500 yards away. My PH said that there is big bull in the group. we kept our heads low i the high grass, aiming to get to a small bush about 200 yards ahead. We got to the bush without getting noticed by the bulls... but now there was no more bushes left to hide behind... I asked my PH how long distance it was, he said 200yards. He put up the sticks... the bulls started walking away from us to the left... he pointed out the bull for me, third from the left, and said, you can take him when he gets clear from the other bulls... then my bull stopped, I had him standing clear from the other bulls, take him my PH whispered, I aimed on the shoulder and pulled the trigger... i could see it was a good hit, he was just standing with a low head, a bit angled towards us, while the other bulls ran away... shoot again my PH said, so I aimed a bit more in the front of the shoulder and shoot again, and the Eland fell to the ground... when we got too the bull we could see that the first shoot was just behind the shoulder... it went right thru the bull. the second bullet entered in front of the shoulder and stayed against the skin behind the other shoulder... then it was time for the photos... I was very happy about my first trophy of this trip...

to be continued... :)

Congratulations for the nice trophies, and thanks for sharing the photos.

Those are some fine trophys Looks like you had a great time.

Nice shot Swedhunter! Great footage, who filmed your hunt?

thanks, jerome. It's my father who films the first part of the stalk, the shoot i filmed by my outfitter, John. we where the only hunters att the lodge at the time so he hunted with us most of the time.

Great video.
Good shot.
Your excitement sure came through after the shot! Those quick breaths sure tell the story.
Congratulations! Thanks for posting the hunt footage.
