Looking at the recoil charts will tell you that it's going to be a painful experience to shoot and a gun that not many are really capable of handling.
What is the biggest rifle you have shot? What type of hunt (PG, DG or both) are you planning? A 375 H&H or a 375 Ruger would my recommendation. The Ruger will cost a lot less than the H&H and they are ballistically no different. You can set up a 375 Ruger (or a 416 Ruger for that matter) with a great scope for ~$1500.
BTW, in your original post, you listed a 416 rugby: Is that the much anticipated rifle collaboration between Ruger and Rigby?

The Winchester Model 70 Safari Express or Super Grade are great looking rifles. That's a great choice in 375 H&H. When you start considering scopes, think about eye relief and a reasonably low power on the low end. A 1x4, 1x6 or 1.5x5 are common. In my opinion, the highest low end power would be a 2 or 2.5. Swarovski makes a 2x12 that covers all you'll need, but it's a pricey scope.Ok so I might purchase a 375. I have been looking at the Winchester m70 series for a bit. It`s premium ammo is always available , Barnes/Woodleigh. And not as expensive as a .416 Rigby or it`s ammo.
It will kill any animal dead, provided you practice the next two years to hit the vitals of what ever you want to hunt.
It has the lowest chamber pressure of a .40 caliber dangerous game rifle.
It`s recoil is on par/maybe a little more than the .375 Sako.
It is one of the great classics....

what are sine good guns calibrated for 404 Jeffery?
Not having shot anything bigger than a 30-06, I would recommend a 375H&H. I have a M70 and swear by it. Also have a MRC 404 Jeffrey. It is a lot more gun to shoot than my 375H&H.
