Ann has the Ruger Guide gun in 375 Ruger and 30-06. I'll need to post an update on the big bore thread soon. After being caught in the rain with the Winchesters, I would very seriously consider taking Ann's Ruger to a place like Alaska for brown bear and/or moose.. (both on my short list). Tougher gun when it comes to weather issues.

Yup, Federal Premium ammunition loaded with hydro solids. And yes, Woodleigh hydro solids. Here's a picture for ya... This one was dug out of the lower jaw bone, it was the finisher/insurance. As it looks inthe picture, it is slightly dented to the one side and slightly mushroomed. I like them in both the 416 and 375.

Yea they have been at the Taxidermist in Zim... Now I am exporting them to RSA for safe keeping at a shop down there... I own them, they are registered in my name... Hope to get them home someday of course, but I can still feel them in my hands as I'm typing this. It was a grand adventure and I feel very privileged to have been able to do it with my wife... Memories of a lifetime! The trophies are really mementos aren't they? Hopefully the replicas can serve the purpose for now.

I would do it again. And just may someday!

My trophies are finally on their way to RSA. So a few more months I should get me replicas home, finally! The buffalo and impala still need to be mounted. I had a bag done with the buffalo back skin and some bookends of the front feet. I did get some pictures a while back and so here they are.

First set of replicas bare (2 pics, both sides) to put into a replica shoulder mount. $850. Second set of replicas mounted on turned and carved bases. $1400... Realize once they cast the mold, it is pretty easy to make more sets. The tusks hanging on chains are the real deal originals that I am importing into south Africa for safe keeping. I hired SSI to ensure all the documentation is done correctly so I can get them home when and if the ban is lifted. Bottom is closeups of the carvings on the bases, a village scene and a herd of elephants.
