Where and who are you hunting with in 2016

July 2016, mkolo game farm, bowhunting plains game :)

2016 will find me back in the Eastern Cape with Loodt at Tootabi Hunting Safaris. This will be more of a visit and fun hunt(opportunity hunt) rather than a hit list hunt. I enjoyed my time with him and his wonderful family so much that I could not pass on another year without going over.

View attachment 49429 Mekaniks you will enjoy the hunt with Pieter and the folks at Flintbeck will treat you like family. Have fun and look forward to hear about your plans fir the trip!

Made our SA plane reservations today. Really wanted to get on the Delta flight out of ATL but just didn't work out. So we going AK Air to Seattle then Emirates out of Seattle through Dubai to JNB. Never been to Dubai before so that should be interesting. Hope they are done shooting down passenger planes in that part of the world by then...
Next is to get my son shooting more and have him take the Alaska Hunter Ed course this winter. He is showing some interest in shooting my 30-30 so we will probebly start there with some reduced recoil loads. (He has been shooting 22lr for a couple years) Good Times:)

Wow, lots of big plans for 2016. Very happy for all of you - and looking forward to the reports.

My hunting in 2016 will consist of DSC and reading hunt reports here on AH.

Unless Bill decides he needs a Marine to carry his rifle for him...than I am his man!

:)

2016 will be a DIY year at home with friends. I have drawn a turkey tag for next spring and that will be my 1st turkey hunt so I am excited!!!
Once the oil and gas prices recover I will be back in the market, and overdue :D, for some overseas hunting action.

my 2016 will be a home hunting one too .

try and bowl over some debt,
a cupole of quick trips over seas , not hunting but ....
try and get a monarch of the samba variety ..... would love to finally knock over a 30 inch stag ,
other than hog deer season , I don't really have much of hunting year planned ................
will be looking to make some lost ground in 2017 tho

End of June I am heading with my family (two boys hunting with me and one daughter and wife not hunting) to test the patience of Marius at @KMG Hunting Safaris. My parents (77 & 80) are going too with my father doing some wing shooting. I am very excited and quite nervous....We are working out and shooting lots. I guess I see this as possibly the last of the full family vacations and it is going to be unlike any other!

Marius has designed a great list for the boys. I thought I knew what I wanted but now I am undecided. Did I mention I was testing his patience?

Headed to Cameroon for a Savannah hunt with Mayo Oldiri the end of January. Lord Derby Eland at the top of my list but sure want to hunt Roan while I'm there, it'll be my last subspecie. Really looking forward to the trip, it's been 20 years since I was in Cameroon. I did two forest safaris in the mid 90's and never got up north.

Then in June it'll be 30 years since my first safari so planning an extensive family trip to celebrate. We'll start off with old friends in the Eastern Cape Niel Schoeman of Swaershoek Safaris and Tollie Jordaan near Somerset East. A visit to Cape Town so the kids can see Table Mountain. Then up to Zambia with Shawn and Dene Bird of Balla Balla, they've got a great place in Kafue. An overnight in Livingstone to see the Falls then on to the Zambezi for some tiger fishing. We'll finish up with a few weeks in Namibia touring and a bit of hunting with Peter Thormahlen. This will be the first African trip the whole family will be on, Debra and I with four teenagers, it'll be like Christmas every day for six weeks!

mate you are definitely winning the trip of the year award ,
with the whole family in some awesome country ,

Thanks Bluey, Safaris are like Christmas, best when shared with the ones you love. Gonna take 'me Down Under someday, I had some great times there hunting with Mick McCormick back in the 90's. I'll never forget the taste of oysters fresh off the reef at Smiths Point.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
