Impala Pictures

Wow is the first picture the same one as the one you shot? Great Impala!!!!

Nothing special size wise, but it was the first animal my wife ever hunted. Old boy I think was ready to call it, teeth worn down to the gums. We hunted all day for this ram, had her on a few of them but the shots just didn't work out, so she earned this one for sure. Donna's giddyness and smile was what made this memorable.....

Very Nice, Icq

Gee Wizz, some excellent trophies on this tread, hope to be in a position to take one of these really big boys some day.

"Although the bread and butter buck" it is my favourite animal to hunt, and can be a quite challenging hunt.

Here is my best attempt, shot with my 416 Rigby 400gr Barnes TSX (was the gun in hand at that stage)

All indications and measurements show 25" but I will have it measured by an official measurer towards the end of this month. Really hope it makes 25"

We witnessed this ram at the back chasing away the other straight past us for a good 200m down the road.

My first impala, taken two weeks ago in Namibia, with Die Keiler Hunting group. Used my Tikka 30.06, Zeiss scope and Scirocco bullets. It scored a Gold Medal and measured 155.5 (61.22).
I can't wait to have it in my hands again, and hanging on the wall.

An Impala Story:

I am hunting with my father as a youngster. He gets out of the Landrover to take his morning constitutional under a tree. He whispers loudly for me to bring a rifle. His pants are around his ankles and his business is on the ground as I hand him the 375. He has seen a herd of impala and tries to get a steady rest while in a squatting position. He pulls the trigger without considering Newton's Third Law of Motion.:( The kick sends him rocking backwards. He pushes back harder to keep from landing in the piece of artwork he has just made. He however fails to keep from dragging his pants that are firmly ensconced around his ankles through the mound. He removes his pants and cleans them the best he can. Unfortunately the smell was with us the rest of the day.

Oh yea, the impala was drt.

I'm enjoying the impala photos. Keep them coming.
