So at the Texas Trophy Hunter Show in Ft Worth I seen an offer of a plains game safari with airfare included. I apologize for not knowing the outfit. On this site there are packages for taxidermy included, this got me wondering, has anybody ever seen a truly all inclusive package of airfare, taxidermy, trophy fees, everything?

I know a reputable booking agent that sells Africa hunts with the airfare included. It is offered as an allowance, based on average flights. It does not include taxidermy, but everything else. He is also from Texas, but I don't hold that against him. Bahaha.

on the first trip to gods country , back in 2010, the package I went for had the airfare included , but only from America, not the other gods country.
they just deducted the airfare, and we made our own way there

arc Africa has a good package on the wall right now that includes taxidermy , but not air fare . check it out , mate

If that is something you really want, I'm sure you can get it. But it might be easiest to do through a booking agent such as @James Jeffrey - HuntingAgent.com

I would have no qualms about going through James again. However I have been back over twice since then and booked those myself. @safari gal booked our flights with no issues.

I think it all depends upon the amount of service you want vs. shopping for the best deal and the flexibility to choose flights and taxidermists. Taxidermy can be it's own nightmare... Personally I prefer to be in charge of it myself and will never again just take the recommendation of an outfitter or go with a taxidermist I have not met or visited myself. And I would trust client references much more than outfitters or agents or even PH's.

Shopping for flights is really not that difficult anymore! If you have open times when you can fly.....deals can be found.

My first safari in 1985 was air included, to Tanzania from NY/RT and the whole cost of the trip with 8 trophy's included was so low its embarrassing.:D:eek::rolleyes:o_O:ROFLMAO:

Yes, but in 1985 I was working for $4 an hour. I bet it was still an inexpensive trip compared to today.

I was making more than that but cant recall for sure how much more, I was working on tugboats then for half a year and doing shipwright work the rest so I was making fair dough. Even then it was a very inexpensive hunt. Remember that this is the time frame of the famous or infamous $2500 buffalo hunts in Zambia offered by a couple of booking agents that were in all the glossies. That is what really got me cranked up to start thinking seriously about going to Africa, something I had always wanted to do but figured I could never afford. The booking agent who offered my hunt is I believe long out of business, Canada North Outfitters, Jerome Knapp, I think out of Ontario. With 8 animals paid for including buffalo and the more common plains species of East Africa, 7 full hunting days, all transfers, dip and doc too..it was really remarkable. I shudder to think what the same hunt cost now, if it could even be done.

Yes, I actually advertised and sold such a package a month ago. I can't post a link here - but the package is listed on my website under "packages".

Best regards,

@cmc a great topic and discussion - I am sure anything like that can be done (however it will come with a couple of bells and whistles). Good to think into this way and especially if an Outfitter has a good relationship with a Tour Agent/Booking Agent with flights in mind someone like @safari gal and the specific Outfitter would definitely be able to put something together.

Questions that arises when considering to put a package like the one you proposed up would be:

  1. Where do you base your flights from/out of?
  2. What class ticket would be sufficient?
  3. What time of the year? (Flights vary from season to season and also year to year).
  4. Any observers, and their requirements (flight wise).
  5. What kind of taxidermy to be done and or be required?
  6. Shipping to which address?
  7. Will the animals that is advertised/included in the package be the only or will there be more added that will influence the shipping estimate which is included?
  8. What if the airline the Outfitter signed up with decided to cancel shipment of trophies?
I would definitely be interested what members say on here, and after deliberation and giving it some good thoughts one could surely put something together.

I agree with tootabi on this one it surely can be done but I think that there will be no flexibility

Type of mounts and destination of shipping can play a big role in price

Also will the flight be convenient for the hunter if it is not out of an airport close to him

I think this is all reasons outfitters arrange personal packages for each individuals needs to make it fit their requirements

Keep well

Long ago and far away Jaco Strauss from Kwalata broached this very subject and got lots of feedback.
An absolutely ALL INCLUSIVE hunt.
Door to Door.

For me there are way to many things I want to be in control of. Maybe some day I will chill out and let someone else take control of my life.

I will have to agree with Brickburn, as an outfitter we have enough on our plate. Travel agents and taxidermists are the ones who need to also be part of arrangement, I don't want to end up being the middle man between travel agent and clients. I will sit on a taxidermists head to get the best job, but it's between him and the clients.

Now that should qualify for the joke of the day! :E Happy:

Bob, thanks for the good laugh...
