How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

Caliber is fine. 110 grain slug is light but OK for light plains game......170 grain sized slug for heavier animals. A 170 sized is great on Alaskan moose so take that for a size reference. Good hunting!

The 150 TTSX will hit very, very hard on those animals. I have used them in my brothers 300 WSM and they are nothing short of amazing.

I have also used the TTSX's in a .270WSM and my .300 WSM. Penetration has been excellent. I have 3 or so recovered bullets. They are all picture perfect on expansion. No hesitstion to use them on any animal. My only issue is in my .300 WSM. It copper fouls quickly and needs to be cleaned after every 15 shots.....
Went to Africa last May and used my 7mm. Someday I hope to get a report up. Used 160 gr accubonds running just over 3000 fps. Kudu crumpled in mid-step. Gemsbuck DRT. Doubled lunged my Black Wilderbeast and he went about 200 yds. Sable took 2 shots.... Missed the high shoulder 1st shot and got lungs. Dropped at the 2nd. Reedbuck was also DRT.
Shot placement plus a good bullet equals dead critters. Bruce

I would have brought my 300wsm but zero chance of ammo if they lose my luggage, hence the 7mm

25 years ago I shoot a 1200 kg Hereford bull with a frontal head shot at 15 meter, using a 22 lr, drop dead... a couple of buff with 30-06 etc..etc..

I wouldn't be very comfortable with that bullet. I prefer heavy for caliber bullets.
I took my 7mm Mag to Limpopo this year and used the 175gr. Last year I used the 160gr.

I have killed a 275lb hog with a 22 lr , one shot stone dead. Granted the hog was not an animal I was going to be paying for and they are a pestilence down here. On animals in Africa I would he hard pressed to dip below the 150 grain mark.

To answer the question, the biggest animal I would take with a 110gr from a 7 Mag would be something the size of a whitetail. Or in Africa a Bushbuck, Springbok, etc...

Maybe it's just me, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with a 150g Partition at 3100 fps. I'd feel comfortable shooting grizzly with load. It mirrors my 270 Win load of a 150g Partition at 3000 fps and is just death on elk. Never been to Africa so can't make the comparison.
