Tuskless Elephant hunt

I am very happy to have been given the opportunity of marketing this sought after tag in the Zambezi Valley for 2015.

This Tuskless Elephant hunt will be a 10 day hunt in the unspoiled, free range hunting area of the Zambezi Valley which is located in the Northern part of Zimbabwe. The mighty Zambezi separates Zambia and Zimbabwe where the game frequently cross the river from one country to the other.

Which area?

So $15,000 plus for a tuskless?

$20,000 with charter?

Arc-A..............a couple of dumb questions....What is considered the best quarry on such a hunt ? Shoot the first tuskless elephant seen? or hold out for a tuskless bull ? Or do they want to reduce herd size and only shoot a tuskless cow? Roughly what percentage of adult elephant are tuskless?.......................thanks....................FWB

Justin,

Did Parks hold the auction for Sapi this year? I am assuming they are still selling that quota in the same manner.

Good luck with the sale.

Hello FWB, sorry for the delay... The oldest animal possible is persued but 95% of the tuskless animals taken are Cows. Im not sure of the percentage break down of tuskless animals versus animals with Tusks, sorry.

Hello Mike, The Outfitter was in Spain during the Auction period and hasnt had a chance to follow up. I will send you a PM if I hear anything else.

My understanding is that about 3% of the population are tuskless. From my experience you may not be able to shoot the first tuskless cow you see. First your PH must confirm that she does not have a dependent calf. A lot of them do. Pretty sure bulls are not included, at least not for the same price.

I am sure the resident PH's on here will correct me if am wrong in my statement.

Arc, Rich, Justin...........many thanks for info...................sounds like a great hunt with lots of adventure factor.....................................FWB

I have hunted tuskless twice in this area. 2 years ago 2x1 cull hunt and between us we harvested our quota in 1o days. You sepend a lot of time walking often to be busted. But it is the most ecenomical and exciting way of hunting Elephant.

Thank you for sharing and congratulations with your success!

PS: Maybe think of posting a thread with some photos, I know everybody likes a good report as it gets the blood flowing;)
