Haven't quite sorted the photos thing out yet but I have quite a lefty battery consisting of
model 70 safari, 375 H&H out of the new Haven custom shop,
A bolt Medallions in 270 win and 300win mag
A bolt Micro Hunters in 7-08 and 243
Savage 110 all tricked out in 338-06 A-Square
Savage 93 in 17 HMR
Weatherby Mk V custom in 257 Roy

No dogs in the pound, they all shoot great.
Search is on now for either a 404 Jeff 416 Rigby or 470 double. Half the fun is the wanting part!

"Only accurate guns are interesting!"

Need pics!!!!

A left hand M70 in .404 Jeff sold on gunbroker a few months ago. Shame no one from here ended up with it! :(

I need to figure out how to do that on the pics! Can I upload right from my iPad or do I need a service like photobucket etc? On that lefty 404 you mentioned, I found out about it via this site and jumped on it. Sadly I was a few hours too late. There is a lefty M70 in 470 Capstick in the classifieds here as well. I did some digging and Winchester did in fact catalog the caliber and did a run of them with the bolt handle correctly located. Just a bit more horsepower than I was planning for but a viable option if my custom shopping doesn't pan out soon. And I kinda wanted a true classic caliber.

CZ is out. Their price point for a lefty 404 or 416 is cow patties, especially taking into account that they WILL NOT provide upgraded wood as an option for left handed orders. If I'm dropping 4-5k on a custom shop rifle, the wood better look superior to birch. That deal kind of upset me as I actually like the CZ just fine. Just refuse to pay 4k for what amounts to a 1.2k grade rifle.

Ruger showed me their brand new just released LEFTY 416 Ruger African at SCI. At the going price is damn cheap. Just no romance associated with the chambering. No denying the killing power though. I'm in talks with Montana right now and they seem great so far. No Rigby size Lefty actions yet although they plan to catch up as production allows. I'm looking at getting a Montana 1999 magnum action converted to 404 by a smithy that has experience with this and then having Montana finish the build, stock work etc. will share details when I know more. Right now that's looking to be sub 3 K and would be a full blown custom deal with nice wood, etc.

Straight from the ipad! Click "upload file" right next to the "post reply" button. It is easy, especially for a leftie, you know, natural intelligence and all.... :A No1:

The bad about left hand big bores is that they are hard to find... The good news is that when you do find one you can usually get a deal as their aren't many buyers! I wouldn't buy a left hand big bore new if I ever wanted to sell it, too likely to take a loss. And don't get me started on CZ!!!! that is just highway robbery!!!!

At least Montana makes lefties at the same price as the owner (Sipe) is a leftie.. I've heard mixed things about their rifles, and especially the big bores... including stuff like the stocks break "due to shipping." Ok..... My Lott is on a Montana action though and I like it just fine.

Can't wait to see your pics and here more about your build!

Nice to see a fair few people shooting the right way.

Just a little update, got myself a Blaser K95 kipplauf in 7x57r. Can't post pics yet as I am waiting for the license to come through (3-5 weeks).
But will post some pics as soon as it comes through.

Weighing in at just 5lbs it will be a right breeze to carry around.

Going to top it with a Leica Magnus 1.5-10x42, Nightforce 2.5-10x24 or if I can find another decent lightweight high power small lens scope.

Pictures to come as soon as it arrives home ;)

5 lbs in. 7x57 will be a sweet carrying rig. One of the guys in my elk camp has a K95 and loves it.

Very nice wood, too bad it ain't a lefty. I'm sure someone would jump on it otherwise. Guess someone in the big bore addiction group might though :)

That is going to be sweet. I think I've said it here somewhere before, but my next rifle is going to be a "light" rifle, although not that light. What I'm really going to get is an "all around" rifle that will also make good sense in the mountains.

Yeah I am so looking forward to getting it in my hands and playing with it!

Will be reloading 160gr Northforks for it but will start out with factory 156gr Oryx and 150gr fmj's just to get going the first day.

Scopes are already mounted in blasermounts so it's just a factor of choosing whatever of the three scopes (Leica 1.5-10x42, Nightforce 2.5-10x24 or the March 1-8x24) that suits the rifle best. But I am heavily leaning towards the Leica right now.

Feeling like a 7 yr old kid waiting for christmas to come around

I shoot lefty too. Right hand dominant with a lazy eye. My LH rifles are not as pretty as the others. Just some plain old Ruger MK II, Savage and Weatherby. Nothing fancy. The only advantage I have is the ability to use a RH firearm with ease. I didn't have anything LH for most of my life. Working as a LEO, everything was RH. It is hilarious to hand my rifle to a buddy who is RH and put them through some "stress" drills. Looks like a monkey doing a math problem. Amazing how confused folks get when the bolt is on a different side.

When I switched to a left hand bolt for the first time the hardest part was loading it. It was all backwards feeling!!!! LOL working the bolt and all came naturally, but loading the magazine took practice.

And we want pics regardless!!! Working rifles are awesome!!!!

Welcome to the club gutterdoc!
Nvm if the rifles are pretty or not, post some photos when you have the time!
