Hunted
Namibia-Khomas Highlands, Romania, South Africa- Kalahari , Eastern Cape, USA, Fished Brazil, Mexico, USA
I was wondering if it is possible to hunt all ten species of the tiny ten in one safari? If so how long would it take and what would it cost give or take? I'm just curious, nothing I would jump up and hunt tomorrow but I find the little fellas pretty interesting. I just think if I was to ever do it I would want to try and get them all in one whack as I don't see myself going on several different trips to try and get them.

I don't think you can get all in one place on a single safari, most can be taken together in the same country but not all, take for example the Dik-Dik is in Namibia but they don't have the red Forrest Duiker. Now if you want to take one trip that hits more than one country. (South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique as your best bets)

What are all 10 species?

I not to sure you could narrow it down to a time frame. Would all depend on the quality you would be looking for. It would take some traveling time to get to all the areas to.

I think some are not that hard like your common duiker and steenbok but they can be hard to if you want above avg. size. I have talked with bossie about hunting some of them and it seems a lot of luck with good shooting would decide how long it would take.
I would bet it would work out on avg to be 4 or 5 days per animal hunting for all males of good quality. Would run with day fees and trophy fees around 50,000 or more.

Gizmo,
We've done 5 of the 10 in 5 days. You can do 7 of the 10 in the Eastern Cape, and 10 days should be enough for that. What will drive the price up, is the fact that you would need to go to Namibia for the Dik Dik, so you will have two taxidermy and two shipping bills. If you get yourself over to Namibia, try and get the Dik Dik done. The rest can be done in one trip in SA, quite comfortably.

Take Care,

Wow marius that is getting it done for sure 5 in 5 days. Which 5 have did you get on that hunt.

How many of the tiny ten need a special permit. I know the orbi does but any others

Day 2. Grey Duiker & Steenbuck
Day5 Blue Duiker & Oribi

* Missed opportunity at Grysbuck x 2

Hey you cheated you put the vallie in there.LOL I do agree I think it belongs there to. Not sure if guys don't put that in the tiny ten because it looks bigger or why. I would add the valie and mtn reedbuck and say tiny 12

brickburn you just cant trust those guys who wear those tight blue shorts in the cape. LOL  they always change things up But I do agree it is a tiny one to me to

Damn, I was off. You added the Vaalie to the list.
Sometimes you get those hunts where everything just goes right. This is what the full list looked like:
Day 1: Mtn Reedbuck + Vaal Rhebuck ( Done by 12:00)
Day 2: Common Springbuck + Grey Duiker + Steenbuck
Day 3: Black Wildebeest + Common Springbuck + Blesbuck
Day 4: Blesbuck
Day 5: Blue Duiker + Oribi ( Done by 13:00)
Day 6: Cape Bushbuck
Day 7: Nothing..... :)

Where you hunt them Vaalies, the only blue you will see is your knees........

Marius just throwing this out there but I think you and your crew should pick up brickburn in the airport wearing them blue shorts. make sure you video it all though so we can see him running back to the plane. LOL

I guess you do a lot of crawling after the vallies then so some knee pads would be good

Thanks Brickburn. On the drive home from work I was thinking what they could be. I scored 9 out of 10 in my mind. Suni was the one I didn't get.

It strikes me as a great challenge. I'm not sure the wife would want 10 full mounts though...

I think it would be cool to get all ten of the little fellas and have them all full body mounted.

Will probably get arrested for impersonating an officer.

Lol!!! Our department used to allow these rediculous blue shorts we could wear in the summer. I used to get so pissed when some of the guys would wear them. Hell it was embarrassing just answering a call together and having to stand next to someone wearing that crap.
