I just wanted to pass along a quick word of thanks to the AH community.
Many of you expressed deep condolences about my father’s recent death ( Dr John Plumb Nov. 29 1933- Nov8 2025) and I truly appreciate it. My father suffered from traumatic head injuries from college football and the experience of a 57mm recoilless rifle exploding next to his head while in the army. For the last 8 or 10 years he has basically been non functional and his suffering is now over. I especially wish I could’ve talked to him about my hunting travels but I told him and I think he heard them but just couldn’t respond back, I think he would’ve really enjoyed them.

When times got tough I could emmerse my self in this forum and escape for a while.

I especially wanted to thank @Pablo and @PARA45 for their personal messages, while I have actually met very few fellow AH’ers I hope to one day even though we bump heads at times most of it is in good fun!

Once again thanks to everyone! And God bless!

God bless you and your family. Your dad is now at peace. My prayers are with you.

Sending prayers to you all. You've got a good attitude, and your father is literally in the Happy Hunting Ground.

I see he was a professor with the fisheries dept at Auburn. Sounds like he had an interesting life. Looking forward to reading a more informative obituary.

Very sorry for your loss. Hang in there David.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
