What Line Of Work Are You In

I work for maxim crane out of the signal hill, California branch. im a crane operator. not the kind you see in harbors, but the ones you see going down the highway. we move them, build them up, lift stuff up, set it down, and then break the cranes down and on to the next job. in southern California, I built the Bass Pro shop and the citizens business bank arena. multiple schools in the LA county and a ton of other stuff involving cranes. I wasn't there during the lift (I was in Canada hunting bears) but I put the crane together that lifted off the space shuttle that came into LAX. been doing this for almost ten years now. right out of high school.

Wow Aaron, Interesting job! Too bad you missed the shuttle set up. Did you at least get a bear and post the bear hunt pics?

From what I understand that is a job with substantial responsibility and knowledge of your machine and operations. Never ran one but hired a few smaller ones. And got to visit with an operator who sets train derailments back on the tracks, amongst other things. Very particular fellow.

The diversity of careers and lifestyles is very interesting & cool!

I grew up in the sportfishing industry, and ran charter sportfishing boats in South Florida for 16 years before beginning a second career as a firefighter/paramedic. I have 7 years until I can retire and goof off full time.... I still free-lance for fishing tournaments, and guide a handful of clients in the backcountry of the Everglades National Park, the Florida Keys, and Biscayne Bay. For fun and out of my passion for hunting, I consult for Hannes and the Limcroma family.

Hannes is a 3rd generation PH and a 1st generation outfitter. He has been hunting since he could walk and guiding since he could drive. You will never meet a more passionate or sincere individual in the outfitting business.

I've got to go back and read this entire thread. What I've read is very interesting.

I work in supply chain for a major telecommunications company. Don't ask me how I eneed up in supply chain because I'm not really sure. LOL I started my career in sales, moved to operations, and somehow decided that I like moving widgets around.
