Hello Hunters, I just signed up, I have never been to Africa and I am looking to book a plains game hunt in South Africa in July 2015. I will be bringing my two sons, they will be 19 and 18 they will be doing most of the hunting, I will be with them and my wife (she doesn't hunt) 4 of my choices were Kuche Safaris, Comre Safaris, Blue Cliff Safaris and Amanata Safaris, have any hunted with them or know of them?
Thank You, TomC

Welcome to AH TomC! Glad you found us to extend your research...

Welcome!!!

Great place to find an outfitter.

Welcome TomC, best of luck with your planning!

Tom, I personally know Erik Terblanhe of Amanita safaris, you can not go wrong with him... Erik will look after you, as your outfitter as well as your PH which in my book says allot, with 3 decades under his belt he will be a sound choice for you and your sons.

Being an Angola veteran it is quite special to hunt with him, the tracking and over all experience he creates is quite special.

You will also have a great safari with Koos De Meyer, also outfitter and PH, I will personally back theses two, Kuche safaris, I have known Koos for a considerable amount of time and spoken to many of his old clients all if them happy... :)

Rudolph Stephan, is also a great guy, but I am unsure as to who you will be hunting with.. (Comre)

I hope you have an awesome safari and look forward to your reports.

My best always

Welcome to AH, planning is half the fun

Hi Tom ,

welcome and enjoy the Forum ... Enjoy your planning . Be sure to post a hunt report and let us know when you will return for your second trip !

Welcome to thef orum and good luck with your planning. As Jaco said both Amanita and Kuche would be good choices as I know both outfitters and they are reputable outfitters with experience.

Best regards,

Jacques

Hey Tom,
I returned 2 months ago from hunting with Koos at Kuche. That was my 2nd safari and the best so far! Great animals, great lodge, excellent food,,, I can't say enough good things about his operation. Holler at me if you want more info.

Hi Tom

Welcome to the Forum... enjoy...

You will find that there are many quality outfitters and PH on this forum....

What i would suggest is that you ask all of your selected list for this years client list with contact number or e mails and talk or e mail each of them.

Put together a list of questions that you will ask each of their clients.

Example:
1. Food
2. lodging
3. trophy availability
4. trophy care
5. other activities - camp and out side camp.
6. trophy expectations...
7. best quality
8. worst quality

Put together a list of questions.
