    Cavalry Carbine Sniper

Before the purists lynch me, let me say it's not a true Argentine, it's a mix-master Brazilian 1908 action with an Argentine FMAP mfg'd barrel & stock that I built last spring in 7.65x53 mauser. It has no collector value. My eyes are going south, so I bought a scope D&T jig and did it myself...

    Who reloads.....and why?

My reason for reloading, is the odd calibers that I own, when ammo is found, it is pricey! I also like to shoot cast bullets as well as jacketed, and I can load plinkers, or full power loads; my choice. So I guess variety is my reason, plus I get to shoot more for my buck!

    Anyone use the .311 caliber?

I agree Marcos, that Von Gruff does some fantastic work, they are true works of art, from some old warriors.

    Mauser M12

As far as technology goes I like cell phones, GPS, and game cameras, but looking at the Mauser website; I'd rather have a brand new M-98 than the M-12 or the M-03 ; not sure if there's a cost difference, but if I was going to shell out that kind of dough, it would be for a 9.3x62 in the M-98:D

    My new "vintage" 308 rifle...

That Carbine looks like a Great Bush rifle ! Light and handy and quick to shoulder with plenty of power !! I recently posted to your older thread on the .311" bore; my new personal favorite. I also am very partial to the old Mauser's ; 2-1893 Spanish, 2-Yugo M24/47, 1-German M98 to name a few!

    Anyone use the .311 caliber?

I realize I'm late to this party; but I currently am having an affair with the 7.65x53 Argentine Mauser of the Cavalry Carbine variety. It all started 2 years ago, with a 1911 "DWM" mfg'd Modelo 1909 Carbine in 7.65 (.311"-.312") bullets. I liked it so much that I acquired two more Carbine...

    Mauser Oberndorf 9.3x62

Magnificent piece ! Can't wait to see it in furniture ! Plan to build a 9.3 x 62 this year. I'm thinking Mannlicher stock and peep irons, but who knows??

    Brazilian Cavalry Carbine?

Not really true, Awhile back I grabbed up a 1909 Argentine Cavalry Carbine in 7.65x53 Mauser (developed for Belgium in 1889). I liked the cartridge (150's @ 2700 fps & 180's @ 2500 fps) and the Carbines's handling characteristics so well, that I built another one, from a 1908 Brazilian action...
