William Douglas & Sons .470/ Sometimes you get lucky

I found one W. Douglass .470 Nitro on stevebarnettfineguns.com very simillar, 24" ejector and 9lbs 12oz. for 10,500.US. Not bad. I like them not too heavy or long, so if I lived in states could buy it! Shooting 500 grains. Is it like yours? To be honest, my absolute dream is a .450 NE shooting...

That sable is gorgeos, you realize right away that it is an extraordinary trophy! I do not mind knowing how many inches it is estimated.

OK. I am waiting now for the 9.3x64 Brenneke dies from Australia. Btw, I looked up and the Sako Grizzly barrell is 21.4" long, while the Black Bear barrell is exactly 20".

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Hello friends. I looked at your loadings, but I have data only for European powders I can contribute. For Vihtavuori (Finish powder) in 9,3x66 Sako, N550 seems to be the fastest. For Woodleigh RNSP 320grs max speed given is as much as 2405 fts/733 m with loading of 65.6grs/4.25g. The 300grs...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Well, CH4D apparently makes them on asking, but may take 6-24 months now! I saw one guy selling a 9.3x64 Voere together with dies, so i wrote to him and still waiting for reply. I will be looking for more ads, I think eventually something will appear. Due to Covid situation, my rifle will take...

Mulga, good to hear that your Sako ejects just fine! And I like your Kimber Mountain Ascent 280AI! Actually I wanted it too, but because it is not standardize in Europe, I could not get it. I have though Kimber Montana in 308 W. I always liked light rifle, I can shoot them well and recoil...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Wow it is just so beautiful rifel to look at and short! At this price with the dies and bullets etc. I would buy it myself! But I have a selfimposed weight of 3.3 kg, so if new I would buy the standard 9.3x66 (370 Sako) Classic or maybe the stainless composite at 2.9 kg only! I may still buy it...

Good point. The Barness TSX FB 250grs does not have that plastic tip, so is probably shorter! cheers.

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Hello Bruce and thanks for comments. Actually I want to address all 3 issues. 1) The seller says the trigger has been changed and is excellent now. 2) I want to restock it for my long body, possibly 14 7/8" and new bedding with removing the screw. 3) I already baught excellent s. african...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Congrats Mulga on your new Sako Grizzly!!! Very very beautiful rifle and somewhat expensive. I had it in my hands, toiled to buy it, but found it a bit front heavy at 3.5 kg. So I finally baught a Brno ZKK 600 (not the heavy ZKK 602) in 9.3x64 on EGUN (Germany) 2nd hand for good price - with a...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Well I am not going to argue what the 3% powder increase is going to do. But most current data from Sako shows Velocity=710 m/s for x62 mm for 285 grs Hammerhead, while for x66 mm it is 765 m/s. Difference is 55m/s which is about 170fts! The new and stronger rifle must be taken into the equation...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Just to clarify, the feeding problems I have is with a Haenel rifle in 9.3x62. Personally I like the concept of Sako .370/9.3x66, it fits in the same reciever as 9,3x62! It uses same bolt, you only need to rechamber it. It has (by my calculation) about 2-3% more powder space, that is enough in...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Hello John, I am glad somebody added news to this thread. Thank you for the loading info. I have a problem with my 9,3x62 regarding the Peregrine 286grs flat point bullets to load into the chamber! They stop halfway, I think on the case mounth (double magazine). Questions, if you know please: 1)...
