    Calibre for West African Bushpig

Hi Guys, will agree with the .270, will do the job. I have a .270 Win, with good bullets, no problem. My uncle has a 30-06 Sako, what a nice rifle, have shot acouple of buck with it aswell, therefore a .270 in Sako has to be a good rifle, use it and enjoy your hunt!

    bushpig, hard to hunt :-)

Hi Guys, yes not an easy hunt. I got one a couple of years ago, at 00h45 at night. Yes in the middle of night. We walked in macadamia nut orchids where the pigs cause damage to a farmers harvest by eating the fallen nuts. It was very nice, we walked with a spotlight for 2 and a half hours before...

    .270 Winchester and 150's

Hi guys, I cannot agree more with regards to versatily. With a good bullet and good shot placement the .270 performs very well and it is not far behind the 30-06. If it is your rifle and you are familiar with it, it will do well. Have seen good hunters with unfamiliar rifles not having...

    Blue Wildebeest Bullets

I agree, any of these calibres is sufficient. I have .270 Win and got this nice bull with a 150gr round no problem, shot placement is vital and I would agree, use soft bullets.

Hi Guys, sjoe this is a difficult time of the year. Rifle is clean, everything for that matter is clean and if I look at the calender it is about 8-9 months before hunting season, long time to wait...well we have to!

    .270 Winchester for plains game

Hi, I am still fiarly new to hunting, and always wondered if a .270 will take down a good size bluewildebeest, the answer is: YES. Shot a nice big bull, around 26 inches at about 220m with my .270, 150gr, no problem. Shot placement is vital.
