    Have you hunted in Africa?:
    Number of times I have hunted in Africa:
    3 in Tanzania
    My favorite African country:
    Tanzania so far.
    USA, Tanzania, Alberta-CAN
    Species I have hunted in Africa:
    Many! Cape B, Eland, Sitatunga, Croc, Oribi, Chanler Mtn Reedbuck, Reedbuck, Klipspringer, Hippo, Waterbuck, Sable, Baboons, L. Harteebeest, Zebras, Warthog, Impala, Lesser Kudu, F.E.Oryx, Ostrich, Grants Gaz, Tommy Gaz. and a Spotted Hyena.
    My best African Trophy:
    Probably one of the Buffs. He went 45.5" wide and scored 117+ SCI. Also another that went 44.5" and 115+ SCI. The lesser Kudu is probably the rarest and he was 26.25" long I don't recall his SCI #. The Hippo will go about #60 all time. The Hyena should wind up #37 all time, he was cool!
    My favorite African trophies:
    The Oryx was the toughest hunt. He was hit poorly (1" below heart). We tracked him 3 hrs the first day into noght after the shot. It grazed both lungs but not enough, that one was 400yds. We kept spooking him and that was the closest we got for hours! A followup running shot at 550 yds hit him in the paunch. He still went 4 miles!! (on GPS) We found him the next am after 4 hrs of tracking in 105 degree heat in the Rift Valley. He ran 1 more time and I finished him. What a tough animal.
    My preferred weapon(s):
    Rem 700 Sendero Stainless in 300 Ultramag
    Browning Safari Grade 375H+H
    What weapon(s) do you hunt with?:
    • Rifle
    • Shotgun
    • Muzzleloader
    My preferred optic(s):
    Leupold Scopes.
    Gear I cannot live without:
    Bushnell Yardage Pro 1500. A camera - always.
    My best hunting tip:
    Enjoy every moment in the hunt, life is very short and precious. I lost everything financially after my last safari but I will always have my memories, pictures, trophies, and videos.
    My other interests:
    I saltwater fish sometimes. Generally just hunting and shooting at the range with my kids and other kids I try to introdoce to the sport.
