1) I personally carry the bolts and scope(s) in my checked bag, NOT in the gun case. This is a deterrent to theft.
2) I personally put each gun in a soft case (Boyt Signature Series heavy cotton canvas - padded & breathable). There is enough room in the Pelican/Storm case (you may have to remove one layer of foam off the bottom - I personally replaced the entire bottom layer and put an egg-crate layer like the one on the top); it prevents the gun from damaging each other when the case is dropped (as will happen during airport handling), and it gives you the necessary protection for the rifles while in the hunting vehicle.
Also, FYI, last time I checked the gun with TSA, the agent gave me grief because he wanted one TSA lock for EACH locking point, i.e. 4 TSA locks (I had only 2). I now carry in the case under the foam 4 TSA locks and 4 key locks (technically per the regulation, gun cases are not supposed to have TSA locks but locks that only you can open, i.e. key locks, and you never know what the local agent will want). I do use the TSA lock by default, but I have the key locks just in case...
