Hunting Vehicles Zimbabwe

Look what we found, a 1950 Series 0 Landy to accompany Carruthers, our 1954 work horse. Carruthers has now chalked up about 4000km over three safaris and taken us through really tough terrain. The new one has been christened The Harry Selby and will be going on the sable hunt just as soon as the roads are open again.
Kevin,
I have always wanted an early model Land Rover, they just shout safari, they're a part of the African Landscape, just as much as the animals, thank you for sharing.

The thorn trees in front of your image just adds to the romance of the historical Land Rovers. I have never seen anyone put a roll bar on an early Land rover, only on the later models when they use em for 4x4 rally racing and jumping. If anything, a roll bar is an asset on a 4x4, not that you want to roll one in the first place, but the roll bar has many other uses too.

Mate, great looking vehicles, you should be proud (y)

Regards
Rob

Thanks Rob. The roll bar is soon to come off, it was from its previous owner, to be replaced by a frame and canvas top like the other one. Our first task was to get the little Landy running sweetly, and that was completed this week. By next Friday all the cosmetic touches will be complete, including the canvas. Then, pending lockdown easing these two will be off to the field for a sable safari. The little one will have the honour of carrying the sable to camp.
