Aussie, this wood was not an upgrade as far as I know. I was sent pics of several selections by the US importer; Double Gun Imports. At the time I was finalizing my order there were a dozen or so rifles in various calibers in production scheduled for export to the US. This was the one I chose for my .404 Jeffery. Length of Pull I left standard. The only other change I requested was a larger than standard front sight bead in white.
