The only thing this rifle is missing is a decent set of sights (some of us still use them...I do) and the front swivel on the barrel (not to protect the had but so that the rifle carries better).
Looks nice.......but agree, it needs a bbl band swivel................and I wonder if internal trigger components are stainless or blue steel.........this makes a big difference in an all weather rifle for Alaska...........stainless bbl looks nice, but its the trigger that rusts in Ak..............but a good start with a wing safety and a straight bolt..............FWB
I'd say a 21" barrel would be about right for Alaska, or anywhere else for that matter. I had a Montana Rifle in 375 h&h at one time. It was stainless/synthetic. The trigger was indeed stainless as well. Mine was a 24" barrel, and the barrel was very heavy for a 375. The gun would probably still be in my safe if it was a pound lighter, and less barrel heavy.
