On my first Safari in Limpopo Province, my hunting buddy and I were watching our PH and tracker scout for bushbuck on the Crocodile River and one of these cats appeared out of the cover. It was hunting and looked for all the world like a tabby cat stray that my wife took in back in Texas, so there was no way that we were going to shoot it. We did not move and it soon hunted it's way across a clearing a few yards away and disappeared back into the vegetation.
We later saw baboons in the same area and eventually took a bush buck each in the same area.
