As I recall, there was a raft of 100-pounders coming out of the forests bordering the coffee plantations in the 80s. PHs like Thomas Mattanovich guided many of the successful hunters.
Another PH, a retired Ethiopian Army Colonel, was Negussi Eshete. He had rights to the Bebeka region. The rain forest bordering the government-run coffee plantations is where he took more than a few 100-pounders.
