OK, guys. I know this is not a popular round, but I plan on taking my dads old Model 70 Douglas barreled .284 to RSA next year. Virgin brass is quite hard to come by now, talked to Win and no go until late next year, no help there. Been to all the sellers and GB and other sites as well, no luck. One guy has some on GB right now but wants nearly a dollar per pc. Normally it would be like most brass, about $70 per hundred. I need at least 50 pcs and 100 would be better of new brass. If anybody has some they could let go of for reasonable or knows someone who has some, let me know please. Thanks!
Scott

WoW! Good luck ses I did a web search to all my favorite sites and came up with the same thing you did, man those are hard to find. Wish you the best I'll keep my eye out.

Ses,

Just checked at Midway and they'll let you backorder 6.5-284 Hornady. Says it's expected in November. From there you can run a 7mm mandrel to neck it up from what I've read.

FWIW,
Phil

Headstamp Phil, headstamp. Must match the rifle.

Thanks Brick, The Armslist one I have seen before, old listing. The other place I have never heard of and they may actually have some, but prefer not to pay a buck a piece for them. Gonna keep looking. Keep 'em coming guys.

I just bought some in Dawson Creek BC Canada, New Winchester brass. They also had 358 Win, first time in about 3 years ive seen either.

Where do you live I may be able to send it to you, but do you have import laws. I know with ITAR I cant import stuff with out paying a export permit.

Dawson Creek! Wow funny how small this world is spent several days there over the last few years, when driving up the Alcan. Lots of Black Bear in your Area.

I really have no idea. Probably more trouble than its worth. I will find some hereabouts. I live in Washington state, just to your south. Thanks though!

I spent 15 years 300 miles up the Alaska Highway [AKA the Alcan], living in Fort Nelson. Yes lots of Bear both types.

Oh Shit! Thats to funny I spent a night or two there hung over when my truck broke down. But thats ben some years ago.

I got some brass! Actually have some loaded ammo coming too. Found 3 boxes of Win ammo on Gunbroker for a price I could live with and a fella on another forum helped me out with 50 pcs of new brass, both on the way. Between the 30 pcs of new I already had I should be good for some time. Probably wont shoot the thing much after the safari is over.
Thanks to those who looked for me!
