Your rifle is an “Alpine” model built on a military surplus Argentine Model 1909 Mauser 98 action and exported by the Firearms Co. in England. They were always sold as kit rifles (unmarked), and quality depended very much on the skills of the gunsmith doing the final assembling. Here’s one in 7x57mm Mauser.

Check the feeding ramps of your rifle. Most of these rifles experience feeding problems when flat nosed bullets are used. But they feed perfectly with round nosed bullets.
