Now this has little to do with African hunting but it has to do with the compassion and generosity of an individual who is a member here and who will hopefully by this time next year be an African Hunter... Jerome, forgive me if this post is inappropriate in this forum but as I'm writing this, I'm completely overwhelmed!

Members here will know that our house was partly destroyed by a fire late last year...

Well, after posting about the events here and the efforts that went into rebuilding our beloved SABRISA Ranch I received a pm from one of our members asking if we had lost any of our music (cd's, DVD's etc.)

The answer was "yes" and Robert offered to assist in sourcing some of the music we'd lost... Some time in April, Robert emailed me to let me know that he'd sent us a parcel...

In between overseas trips and hunting over the last few months, time to collect post from our mailbox was limited but weeks passed without us finding any parcel in the mail...

Last night we returned home from a 10 day hunt in KZN and found (much to our surprise) quite a large parcel that my mother-in-law had collected in our absence...

Now let me say; when Robert asked me what music we'd lost in the fire I gave him the titles of a few artists... What we found in the parcel dumbfounded both Sabina and I!!!

When Robert told me he'd be sending some music I was thinking 3, 4, maybe 5 albums... But inside the box were more than 30 CD's and DVD's with music of our favourite artists! Needless to say, my CD player has been working non-stop since last night... Billy Joel, Glen Miller, Jefferson Airplane... Oh man, what a surprise and pleasure!

Robert, from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you ever so much! We're looking forward to meeting you in person May next year!

Chris

it is now you've put the word out spikey
it is a good gesture for sure

Yet another example of the character of AH members and conservationist in general. I love this community!

Obviously a true music lover at heart.

Great gesture.

That kind of Karma can only come back in an avalanche.

AH really is the best forum on the net!!

very nice gesture  so chris i take it the party is at yours then ?:draught::dancing::beer::dance::biggrin2:

Yep, it is. And everyone is invited. Music, food and beers are on the house.

The plan is for Robert to be here May next year. It's his Birthday on the 22nd so let's plan the party for then...

Who's in?

Chris you are brave giving everyone a year to make plans to get there ;) "beers are on the house" do you live near a brewery or that could be a dangerous offer......:draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::draught::biggrin2:

I don't consider myself as being particularly brave but I've "braved" a few parties in my life...

The question is: "Who is brave enough to take me up on this offer?";)

Robert if you PM me your address I would like to send you a couple of AH caps!

Chris being someone who has also "braved" one or so parties  in my life in different places, this is one of those invitations that makes you want to turn up, just to screw with the logistics of getting there in the first place, and saying what the f!!!! lets do it. :dancing:  oh there had better be some tuxedo junction , moonlight serenade, in the mood , penns 6-5000, chat choo choo, kalamazoo....etc!!!!:thumb:

and rob44 you are a gentleman of note

rob44 Bravo

You need anymore tunes???? I have a solid 25-50 CDs I could part with.... We've gone pretty much to all downloaded music in my family. Now all the music just collects dust. Let me know... I can ship or if your coming to Dallas in January I could drop off to you. Take care!

Didn,t really expect this,,I was just looking to help if I could and when Chris mentioned music that was my Q as I am a founding member and Moderater of a small but well respected Audio Site here in the States ,,and if a party happens and most of you guys from the other side of the Lake drink real beer maybe I,ll have to get some practice so I can try to keep up with you guys

Sounds like we'll have to add a day to your safari Robert... To allow us to recuperate from the party...

Believe me - the content of the parcel you sent was also very unexpected!

I spoke to my daughter today and told her about the music you'd sent her. She is VERY excited!

As for the party - let Robbert and I sort out the details of his trip and I'll let all interested know about dates etc.

Spike, you're my man!
