Hello all,

I'm happy to market a fantastic offer on a Leopard hunt in Namibia. The hunt will take place on a privately owned ranch consisting of 109,000 acres of open range land in central Namibia (Like Garth Brooks CD...NO FENCES).

Due to a cancellation of one of the Leopard Hunts we now offer this hunt at a USD4000.00 discount.

This hunt is available for $12,850.00
which includes:
All pre-baiting
All zebra/horse or donkey baits
14 hunting days for one hunter
3 x springbok baits (to be shot by the hunter)
A leopard tag
Additional springbok baits will be sold for US$80 each.
If the leopard is not shot or wounded, the hunter will be refunded with US$3000.

Date: September or October 2013.
Location: Central Namibia, Africa
PH: Jaco van der Merwe
Booking Agent: Hunting For Adventure

The Namibian #1 leopard has come off of this property. The hunting area is plains meets rugged rocky mountains. Method of hunt will be by baiting. Over the last ten years the outfitter/PH has a success rate in excess of 75% on leopards. The PH grew up on the land (his family land) and knows where to find the cats. Plains game can be added and they have Hartman's Zebra and Klipspringer as unique animals. The Kudu are fantastic and plentiful along with the normal plate of Namibian animals. On to the pictures:

I have returned a few pm's but as of yet, still available.....and I can't believe it!

I have noticed a whole bunch of Leopard hunts that are great deals that are hanging in long after I thought they ever would. :confusion:

Last year, everyone was sold out.

USFWS??

I think it's a great hunt and a great price, but way too many people go on unsuccessful leopard hunts for one reason or another and there is a lot of bitterness over not get anything other than the experience to hunt leopard.

I know for me, it would be super hard to do a leopard hunt and not come back with a successful hunt on all accounts....the economy is not what it use to be. I don't see rosy futures either and with new Obama health care next year I can see my paycheck going down even more. Just my 2 cents.

I think this is a great offer.

And I think enysse is correct.
To check baits and sit in blinds for 10-14 days, paying much money and then go home empty is a thought that keeps many away from a Leopard hunt I think.

Eric,

I see and agree with what you are saying. BUT, this hunt comes with a refund of $3,000 if you don't shoot or wound a cat. Can't beat that! That's 14 days in Namibia on a dangerous game hunt for $9k basically. That being said, this outfitter grew up on the property and has an astounding overall success rate of 75% on cats over the last ten years. Somebody should be hugging a big spotted cat for pictures after this hunt!

I agree with you Tom, it's a good bet, and you will be hard pressed to find a better and affordable hunt. If I wasn't paying for college for a second time, I'd probably take it.

LOL Bob,
I'm still in Germany for the Dortmund outdoor show, so can't pay the deposit from here. I'm back in SA on Tuesday but do believe that this hunt is sold.
Sorry to everyone else... :)

PM responded Marius.

I think a flight from Frankfurt to Windhoek was just booked.

I can understand this completely, and I am not reffering to any one thread I have just noticed it over the last 13 years....... unfortunatly we have to remember that there are way many of these 10 day Leopard safaris, going around for one,.... also IMPO there is no way that one can market the most difficult specie in Africa to harvest at a $14 000 price Tag!!!!!!!
Leopard have been under sold for far to laong and should be priced along side or even better more than Lion safaris, Especially SA Lions....

I do believe that if one takes good quality Leopard on a continuall Basis that it sells it self and you will never have a shortage of clients to hunt such tags when you are in possesion of it... these are the tags that are priced correctly. Once again just my opinion.

The problem or the fear rather that consumers/hunters have is the basic principal pricing, this meaning trophy fee VS daily rate!!!!

this ussually looks something like $1000 - $1500 a day x 14 days and then a small trophy fee for the cat itself, ......

Now corrcect me if I am wrong but when I look at this it seems as if there is very little "incentive" to harvest or put in a MAJOR LEAGUE 500% EFFORT to take a Leopard, should the client leave and not take a cat the outfitter still gets $14 000 to $ $16000 in daily rates,

Good thing to know is that there is a flip side to the coin as some outfitters do price it a little different with a much lower daily rate and a suoer high trophy fee,

I always tell potential clients it is this simple,... there is an incentive to take a cat (which will only be achieved with on average a super effort!!!!) it might be expensive or rather considerably more so than jack next block/door but should it happen that you do not get your cat you are still good and able to walk without bow legs! on the other hand when you get your cat and you will, you are smilling for obvious reasons and so am I...............

Many individuals like to toy with the idea of Leopard hunting, in my limited experience I can only make one very true statement, Leopard hunting is not to be toyed with, it will only end up costing you a considerable amount more than what was originally thought to be a bargain buy.

My best always.
