Managed to take a good sized doe this afternoon. Shot was 110 yards, and load was 350 grain speer mag tip at 2610 fps. Bullet entered right behind onside shoulder, and exited center of off side shoulder. She went straight down at the shot. Bullet performance was excellent with great expansion. Also fist sized chunk of lungs beside her on the ground. I really like this bullet, but it is currently impossible to find. Now with both of my 416's bloodied I can start back carrying my 9.3x62.

Nice eating there!

Very impressive exit wound!

Would you be so kind as to share the rifle specs, scope details?

I re-found your June post when you got the rifle.

Am I crazy, or is this just about the same as the .416 Ruger (save the belt)?

I just acquired a .416 Ruger in the Ruger Alaskan platform and have begun to play with loadings.

I'd say they are very similar. I figure the ruger has a bit more case capacity though, And is beltless

@Cleveland48
Like to see a picture of the recovered bullet.
How much weight did it retain?
