Greetings, .. Has anyone had any experience with Rizzini's Rhino Double?

Any input would greatly be appreciated, Thank You.
Regards, Dan!

Daniel, I just got got back from hunting in Namibia with my Rizzini double in 470 NE. I bought the rifle about 2 months ago and before I went to Africa I sighted in my Trijicon red dot at the range and both barrels almost went in the same hole at 50 yards. I went to a friends ranch right before the hunt and shot 20 rounds free hand at small balloons I set up from 20 to 50 yards. I hit 19 of 20 shooting both barrels in rapid succession at 2 different balloons. The one miss was my fault. On the hunt I shot a Springbuck at 65 yards (a little practice before the big hunt), and an elephant at 30 yards and the gun performed great. I guess time will tell but at this point I am very pleased with my purchase.

Daniel, by the way, the PH's who saw my gun and held it and shouldered it loved the gun as well. I think I may have sold a Rizzini or 2 while I was there. They liked the fit and finish of the gun and it also was vey well balanced and shoulders very nicely.

Did you happen to see one in case color? They aren’t exactly easy to come by, it seems.

Thank you! Glad to hear, & congratulations on the hunt. I've seen previously sold "Rizzini's N.E." on G.I. and didn't realize they've been out and about for a while now, and theirs not too much out their about them. Beautiful looking firearm from what I can see, and priced well.

Yes they are very nice doubles and the wood on mine is very nice. I got the case colored one and with the engraving it looks very nice. I was hesitant to buy it because I had never heard of Rizzini and there was not much out there about the quality of their double rifles. Apparently they make a very nice shotgun. Anyway, I got a chance to hold one and take a look at it in person and the fit and finish quality seemed to be there and the gun was very well balanced and shouldered very well for me. And the price was right. Perhaps Rizzini is pricing them attractively until they really establish themselves in the U.S. And when I took it to the range it shot very well too!

I got the case colored model and it is very nice.

Kevin, I am not a double rifle expert but I believe it is a box lock. Pictures may have to wait I think my PH is going to post some on AH.

Does this stock look erroneous, scuffed, etc .. or the light perhaps???

Thank You!!!!

Any chance of a few pictures Houston Bill? By the way, what is the lock system of the Rizzini?
It has reinforced bolsters .It has double under lugs and a robust "hidden" third bite (Purdey style).

I am currently interested in one in 375 H&H Flanged magnum

My double, an O/U Verney is is 375 FL, it is a fabulous cartridge. Loaded to around the recommended 2400fps with 300 grain Woodleighs the pressure is at about 47000psi and recoil fine, even in a 7.6 pound gun

Kevin, the pictures @IvW sent look just like my 470NE. I bought mine from Rizzini USA and a few months back they only offered it in 470NE or 500NE. Maybe in Europe they offer other calibers like 375 FL. I must say if someone as knowledgeable as IvW is considering buying a Rizzini then I feel very good about my decision to buy the Rizzini as my first double rifle. My rifle is very accurate and the balance is great and it weighs right at 10 lbs so not too heavy to carry.

Can’t find an case color 470 anywhere. Annoying.

For those of you looking for a 375fl, get the VC from Double Guns Nashville. Can be had at same price as Rizzini if you want a store’s name on it (who is going out of business).

Really, going out of business. That's a shame.

Your confident on the Rizzini however, that's good to hear!

Looks like a nice rifle but I don't care for mono block barrels. For the price, it would make an outstanding working rifle.

If you don't mind, what are "Mono Block Barrels"?
Thank You.

On yours sir, are the Barrel's a Satin finish? .. I've seen a couple variations out of the factory upon closer look, gloss wood/Barrel's or a semi gloss/satin finish. It's hard to tell on promo photos etc..

Thank You!

When rifle barrels are fitted to shotgun barrels: cut the old barrels ahead of the chamber and fasten new barrels to them. Also used if bores are shot out and new barrels are fitted as the chambers may be ok. Very few gunsmiths can do this and completely hide the line where the two pieces fit together. Lesser smiths and/or those wanting a quick job engrave over the line as seen in the 4th photo.

The procedure is common on those building a double rifle from a shotgun. This way the extractors and lumps are used. Most shotguns are wide enough at the breech to accept double rifle calibers and this is done often to make a low priced double.
