A Blades K95 that If'n I had the money would be chambered in my own 25 cal designed cartridge with the octagonal barrel.

First of all I'm very happy with my 500 Jeffery and the Rem 700 BDL in 270 I've owned and hunted with for many years (bought it in the late 60s) but if they were available and money wasn't an issue ...

In France, the SOLOGNE company still manufactures ammunition for the 10.75x68. Find the catalog sheets for this caliber below.View attachment 367978

Slightly off topic , but still related related . Sologne lists a “ GMA Solid “ for the .458 Winchester Magnum . Are these monolithic brass bullets or the full metal jacket kinds ( which is what I use ) ?

@colorado
Perhaps it is too dark , but I do not see any floor-plate release . Is it located inside the trigger bow like conventional sporting Mauser Model 98 action rifles ?

« The GPA Solid are made of a brass alloy ensuring very high and maximum penetration without the slightest deformation of the warhead thanks to its one-piece design »

It is a curious thing . The 10.75x68 mm Mauser offering is far cheaper than the other three offerings .

I noticed that, as well.
My first guess would be that the 10.75X68 may be built on a shorter or less 'beefy' Mauser receiver than the .404 Jeffery, .280 Ross, or .318 Westley Richards Express options. Surely a Mauser expert could verify or refute.

Images from 1939 Stoeger catalog (US):

Note the raw 'action' for a 10.75X68 (#13 below) is listed at $80. USD while the .404 Jeffery, .280 Ross, and .318 Westley Richards Express are each listed at $100.

The Type A 10.75X68 (Model 627 below) is, indeed, priced far below cost of the .404, .280, or .318 rifles. The paragraph below does state, however, that "Models 627 and 628" are built on "the famous Mauser Magnum Actions... [sic]".

The pricing of the listed Type A in 10.75X68 (Model 627 above) is more in line with the Type B offerings listed below.

A 10.75X68 Mannlicher Schoenauer ordered from the same catalog cost the purchaser an additional $15. over the other "High Velocity" (now commonly referred to as 'M1925') offerings.

I don't lay awake nights thinking about it, but have been looking for some time for a Steyr Model M in either/both 9.3x62 or 7.5 Swiss and yes they do exist, but I have not seen either. I have a rotary mag for the 9.3 though all ready to go!

I wish the 7.5 Swiss would gain some more commercial success.
I don't think I have ever seen a commercial rifle so chambered though I am sure some exist, other than the rare Steyr. Its a mystery why though. Its an outstanding round and inherently accurate.

the short land musket carried by Francis Marion at the siege of ft. Watson...

(I’m betting it was occasionally used for hunting something other than red coats and probably took a deer or two at some point )

For a long time, I've dreamed of hitting a huge lottery and taking my buddies to London to Holland and Holland, where we would all be fitted with a double rifle and full set of shotguns.

But in reality, I really would love a double rifle. Probably a Holland and Holland or Rigby. But I really don't know.
