I checked fares as well they are high yes but they will gouge the ones at the beginning as the supply and demand takes effect. I just hope they don't stay there as they see people willing to pay whatever. I have always been a fan of the DL200 direct flight as I thought the service , food and seating was far superior to the SAA flight. Now Delta has gone to the new plane which changes the Direct flight option, I played with some dates for 2021 looks like end of May will be end of ATL-JNB now it will be DFW-JFK-AMS-JNB now that has me looking at different options as well as I have no desire to visit Doha, Amsterdam.
I will be getting with Jennifer as I may do the Frankfurt stop as there is a 15 hr layover I can sightsee Germany for a day to say ive been there.

Philip, are you trying to fly out of San Angelo? IAH is generally cheaper than DFW. I usually drive to IAH or DFW as the pricing out of SAT makes it worth the 4 or 5 hour drive. That said, I have found cheap fares out of Austin. I realize from San Angelo, that's a lot of extra driving time, but you might find the pricing is worth the effort.

From what I've researched if you are flying anytime shortly before, during or after Hajj, be prepared to pay a lot extra.

Good luck to all of you trying to get to S.A. next year. I was scheduled for Limpopo in 6 days and fortunately got back all of my money except for the $1500 booking fee which I will leave with Bossie for the future. But will not book any more international airfares until the virus has completely disappeared and things are back to near normal. Even though I am not physically fit for a hunt to Alaska, I may just go there anyway for one of the lesser animals just to avoid the chaos (and apparent expense) of going back to Africa at this time.

Incorrect unless it happens to be the dates you’ve put in being an off day. DL204 is 5X weekly through the end of October 31. Get with the travel agent and check it out.(and my previous post showing days of the week)

I have 11 hunters going with me to hunt the EC and we are all booked in Deltas Premium Select seats. This will be the first time I will be in Premium on Delta and will report on it next year. I’ve done PE on Air France this year and was not too impressed. We will see.
With a big group I was unwilling to wait and see if it got cheaper. We just need some certainly for our Safari!

Do you skip JNB on the return and go direct to CPT? Wondering how the gun check out works on that.

My understanding since Delta first announce this maybe two months ago is that you start your trip home from JNB and only have a stopover in CPT. You do not depart the plane.

My return flight has a Stop CPT - Cape Town Int'l Airport, Cape Town, ZA but just to pick up passengers.
If I had to go thru Brazil to make my hunt next year happen... well I've never been to Brazil?

I think they were saying earlier in this thread that the new JNB-CPT-ATL flight only runs 3 times a week? Maybe it was another thread though. Next June they seem to be running every day from what I can see but maybe for January they are still limiting that flight to just certain days of the week.

Yes that is our plan. We will just hop from PLZ to CPT then off to ATL. CPT is an international airport just like JNB so no problem. My very first flight to Africa arrived in CPT!

Correct but we are skipping JNB and going straight to CPT thus missing the extra 4 hours of misery!

They just announced, with the United announcements, DL204 will be a daily flight starting in March. It was 5X per week and I am sure we are screwed on the price we paid, oh well at least we got the front row of Premium for our group!
So much changing right now. If folks are not particular where they sit they should wait a bit to buy tickets for next year.
