Looking into booking a Leopard/Buffalo hunt and strongly considering hunting Lion also.

Curious what everyone's opinions are on the Luangwa valley or the area around the Kafue National park?

Luangwa Valley is a great place to go for all three!! You need to get in touch with Strang Middleton, he can get it done for you and has access to good areas! If you need his contact info PM me.

Both areas are very good for all three. I spent some time in Luangwa in November on our buff, hippo and PG hunt and some time in a Kafue block with a ph and his clients in early December.
There are some top notch operators on prime concessions in both Luangwa and Kafue that would be able to help you out.
If you’ve got any questions, feel free to fire away, I’m always happy to promote Zambia as a destination.

Contact jeff duckworth at mokore safaris for Luangwa valley.

Been a month how's the looking going. ....?

On a semi related note...is Zambia one of the areas where the lion are "true wild populations"? In other words possibly importable to the US?

Excuse my ignorance, I've done almost no research on the subject yet as I have 2 other safaris booked currently but that may be next on my radar and this thread seemed like a good place to ask when I saw it

Both are great areas and offer a good experience. The Buff hunting will be better in the Valley. Leopard will be good in both areas. Are you still looking?

Yes

@Eric24312 ,

Have you reached out to Strang Middleton yet? He can put you right in the places you want to be.

Yeah they are.....whether your government lets you import them is for you to find out.........

When I hunted in the valley in the late 90s the cat population was crazy. Lots of lions. Lots of leopards. I saw at least 5 leopards during the day. My dad and bother both killed big leopards in Zambia. Dad also shot a lion and lioness.

Yea the only place with captive bred lion hunting is South Africa.

Living life like a lion for 1 day is better than living life like a jackal for 100 years.
