Just can not understand why the US consulate can not explain in a language that a 6 year old could understand that the 4457 is not a license and why does SAPS require it to be issued in the year of entry to SA. A real pain for most to get that 4457 signed each year that they travel to SA. Some have to travel hours to a custom office each year they travel to SA with a firearm. We all know there is no expiration for the 4457, and date of issue for entry to SA is meaningless to everyone but SA requirements. Come on it can’t be that complicated to get it understood to SA authorities. I am finished with SA requirements for entry with a firearm and for the last three years have spent my $$$ in Namibia. But I admit that two weeks ago I did fly thru Joberg and when I was requested to provide my firearm license I handed over the 4457, which then was questioned if the number of my license was the ...####, I answered yes...it was the number for the USGOV form number..sure that’s my license number.

Henry how long are you in the states for?

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
