I most likely am not attending, but I thought I would start a thread for the show and possible meet up.

I posted this in another thread about AH get togethers:

A friend of mine owns a pub in downtown Houston. However, it's not real close to the George R. Brown Convention Center. I've organized small get togethers after the Houston Marathon the last couple of years. I can probably get a few tables reserved. Not really any discounts, but the prices are fairly reasonable.

The Brass Tap is located at 922 Holman. There is a public parking garage adjacent to the pub, so parking is easy.

What we really need is for Gordy and Sons (https://gordyandsons.com/) to organize another book signing event and feed like they did last year with Dr. Kevin Robertson. I thought Gordy might do the same type of deal with John Sharp.

HSC is Jan 24-26.

I’m in if we want to get together for a few libations!

I’ll be on a mule deer hunt in W Tx that week but I’m still interested in getting together as a group some day. My place is always open for an evening meeting, centrally located in Midtown.

Just got on the Houston Safari Club website and noticed a Two for One coupon for admission. It says you have to print it out and bring it with out (some much for going paperless).

I've attached a pdf version.

One of you Houstonian members should give us a write up and some photos of the Houston show......Just a thought!

The HSC is maybe 20% the size of DSC. Mostly outfitters and fewer equipment/guns/etc to look at. A good show if you are local, but not worth driving a couple hours or flying in for, unless you have another reason to come to H Town.

I took a photo of a couple of Eland that Conroe Taxidermy had on displayed. The dark colored hide made me a bit curious so I asked one of guys manning Conroe's booth and he didn't know anything. Any ideas?

I went to both - `To be honest-- after seeing Dallas-- I would never go back to houston again! It was tiny in comparison, expensive for what it was-- not a lot of guns or vendors -- it just isn't an apples to apples in comparison -- does not seem to be the same organization at all.

I thought they were and was surprised the guy manning the Conroe Taxidermy booth couldn't answer my question, when I showed him the exact photo and then point over to that actual display (which was from Conroe Taxidermy).
