Botswana Plains Game Hunting Packages

Tap - thanks very much for booking with us through Tom, looking forward to meeting you in Reno!

We also have a good population of Giraffe at Kanana and lately I am definitely noticing more and more big old mature stink bulls around - If anybody is looking for an amazing giraffe trophy I would be quite happy to add them onto the above packages at $1500 each

Jason,

If you have two big old black giraffe bulls then you can add two to the packages I have already purchased. just get me over the quote and all details to the email I have sent you. I sent you a few PM's but haven't heard from you on them. We are looking at coming to hunt with you May 2013. Thanks for the fantastic offer.

Tony

Hi Tony,

If those pictures are the real deal then your place is insane. Can't say I've ever seen that many eland running together. There had to be over 100 eland in that one herd. I was also noting you guys state that we can use your rifles for free. what caliber and types of rifles do you guys have?

Hey guys,

I am trying to put my first Africa Safari together and I need some help. I'm new here, having discovered this site thru another hunting site, thanks to tap.
I have begun working a 28/28 rotation off the west coast of Africa due to a transfer within my company and the fact that my transportation from the US to Africa & back is paid for by them has made it feasible for me to make the lifelong dream of hunting Africa come true. I believe that I have found the perfect first Safari with Kanana, & I want to do this ASAP, but in order to make it happen around my schedule, I must move fast - and now.

Here is my situation:

I hit the ground in Luanda, Angola around midday on Thursday, August 2nd from my four weeks hitch offshore. I would need to be back there exactly 2 weeks later (Thursday, August 16) to fly home. Therefore, I would schedule my hunt between August 2 thru 16, with sufficient travel time before & after the hunt to get from Luanda to Kanana headquarters & then back to catch my 9pm flight home on the 16th.

Anyway, my biggest challenge in planning the trip thusfar is getting from the airport in Luanda, to Jason's place at Kanana and then back. I'm sure this is probably simple for some of you guys who have traveled around in-country, but I have only worked a couple of hitches there so far, and we basically either fly straight home from the aiport where the helicopter drops us off, or get transported via car by our agent if needed.

I plan to contact Lori with Travel Express who advertises here, but I'm hoping that someone can share their personal experience and knowledge with me.
I mainly need to nail down the details of planning flights from Luanda to Maun, and then getting from Maun to Kanana, and of course the reverse route after the hunt.

I realize that there are many other considerations in planning for the trip, and I am completely open to any and all advice anyone has to offer.

Thank You all,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I am not a seasoned International hunter, but live in South Africa. I see on Jason`s initial posting he will also include transport from Windhoek Airport to their ranch in Botswana (almost the same travel time as from Maun). I think it would be much easier , with more frequent flights, to fly Luanda-Windhoek than Luanda-Maun. Are you planning to take your own rifles?Kanana sounds like a great destination.
Best of luck.
Hennie van L

Thanks Hennie, but I don't see that Windhoek offer.

I'd love to have a couple of my pet rifles with me but if i can make this happen, I am planning to use their rifles on the hunt as will be much simpler.

My regular round trip ticket to work & back must be purchased by my company soon. If I don't get a hunt agreement settled with Jason before then, I won't be going. Communication has now become the major issue.

Jeff,
Please feel free to email or pm me. I'm booking for them and would love to help however I can. Tom Addleman. Tomaddleman@yahoo.com

That is a nice offer. I'm trying to figure how I can go 3 yrs in a row as I just got back from Namibia 2 months ago. I'd really like to try a new country. Is the 100,000 acres all high fenced? Just asking.

Yes, it is but very wild and out in the middle of nowhere. They do have rhino on the property, etc. Cliff, I think you would enjoy it.

Jeff, I SMS'd with Jason today and they are having some issues with email this week.

I told him you were trying to get ahold of him. So he is aware.

Wayne,

Are you heading over to Kanana? We are really booking up for 2013 so if interested better act soon. Not trying to push at all just letting you know.

Tom, is it one perimeter fence or is there any cross fencing? I'm used to Namibia with it's wide open wide open but I have hunted SA on 5000 acres. My smallest that I would do or recommend for a quick easy trip just to gather heads. Everyone has their own desires in a hunting area.

Cattle farming is the big business in the area Cliffy.
The upper sections of the ranch/farm look like they are in many sections.
Could be old low fences. Sorry, I can not tell you for certain at this point.

The property is broken into two main sections divided by a road. Each section has approximately 50,000 acres, give or take. That is the only high fence.

Thanks for the clarification

The property lines are a jig saw puzzle and I can see paddocks in this Google earth image.

However, I have been assured you would NOT hunt in this area.

FYI, the two red x's are living quarters on Kanana.

This is only a small cross section of the middle of the northern portion.
The property measures nearly 47Km for 29 Miles from extreme ends.

Certainly not a small property by any stretch.

Hi Jason,
I am interested in your package 2 as advertised on Africa Hunting. Do you still have any packages left? How difficult / easy is it to export skins and horns to South Africa?
Thanx,
hvanl
