If I wouldn't of just picked up a ruger african in 275 I'd be all over this.
I did too. Been looking for it and saw one on gunbroker after forever. I swear, not a week later, I see two of them for sale.....

Love mine, hope you are enjoying yours.

Yes I love mine. Such a great handling gun. I'm still in load development stage with H4350 and 160 speer hot cors. I'm slowly but surely getting it dialed in.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I purchased this rifle from Mr. Toby and couldn’t be happier. As all of you know, he is a pleasure to deal with and nice to speak to. I intend on doing some minor customizing to the rifle and compare it to my CZ550 FS in 9.3x62. The CZ shoots “lights out” with the factory irons without benchresting. The Zastava is noticeably lighter. We’ll see and I’ll start a new thread.

Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Now that is a study I am interested in. After much research, pondering, and soul searching I have concluded that I must acquire a 9.3x62. I have been going back and forth on the CZ and Zastava - I think the "sure thing" quality of the CZ has me won over but I am still open. I look forward to your results.

I couldn’t be happier with my 9.3x62. Its an awesome cartridge. I was amazed at how efficiently it took out my wife’s buff this year. Hits very much like a .375 in a lighter package with much less recoil.

I am about convinced I could hunt anything on the planet with a 9.3x62. The only caveat is that I should expect a good stalk because it is not a long distance caliber.

I think it is much more capable at distance than you are giving it credit for. Plug in the trajectory for 286gr A-Frames sighted in 3” high at 100. Better yet, check out the trajectory of a 250 gr Nosler Accubond launched at 2500+ with the same sight in.

using the spoton calculator I get 16.59 inches low at 250 yds. Is that what I should expect?

That sound way low to me. I don’t own a 9.3 but I would think a 200 yard zero would be close to 3inches high 100

I don't own one either. That is just the numbers I got. 3.02 inches high at 100 gets a zero at 167.

This is the chart for a BC of .38 which is a 286 swift at 2400 it shows me a 200 yard zero being 2.9 inches high at 100 yards

Absolutely not. You’ve got the zero set wrong.

I have steel on my range at 100, 200 and 300. What Wyatt gave you is spot on and range verified.

That might not be right. I just found data on the 286 gr. Woodleigh. 3 inches high at 100 gets a zero at 212, 6.5 low at 275, and 10 low at 300. That is impressive, especially considering there is a lot of fps and energy still along for the ride

Using "Shooter Ballistics" by Sean Kennedy (a $10 phone App that works great, btw) and my usual Zero of 219 Yards (~200 Meters) for the 250 Accubond at 2,500 FPS muzzle, I get:
2.9" High at 100 Yds (and a Max of 3" High at 125 Yds)
-2.4 Low at 250 Yds (+0.9 MOA)
-7.8" Low at 300 Yds (+2.5 MOA)
-15.2" Low at 350 Yds (+4.1 MOA)

Foot pounds at Muzzle: 3,463;
" " " at 100 Yds = 3,073
" " " at 200 Yds = 2,714
" " " at 300 Yds = 2,390
" " " at 350 Yds = 2,239

This is at my Kestrel temp from around mid day of 57.8* F with a Density Altitude of 6,074'.

Yes, I happily concede. Your numbers are inline with what I found last night. I would be very confident with a 300 yard shot in good conditions. With some work and the right scope I could build the confidence for 350.
