NAMIBIA: Into The Caprivi... Kowas Hunting Safaris

It shows great herd management when you can pick between a scrum cap and a one horned bull.

The Dzoti Conservancy has been managed properly by the people that live there and the PH's that hunt there. It is confirmation to the success of the communal conservancy program in Namibia.(y)(y)(y)

(y)Thanks for the report so far! I am enjoying it. I also feel like I get to know you as you say good morning to me on your videos!
That Buffalo is awesome. I wish I knew the story of how he snapped both sides of his horns.

In the herd there was another bull that was missing his right horn. The one horn bull and the scrum cap bull easily were the biggest bodied members of the herd. They dwarfed everything else on the field. I can easily imagine they both contributed to the loss of each others horns.

Jfet, yours was the epitome of a "Trophy Hunt." A huge old male of the species waaa…..y past its' prime. Now that you've christened your double rifle, what's next on the docket?

What a battle that would have been! I would have loved to have seen it. I know it probably didn't all happen in one epic fight, but that is how the little movie in my head is playing it!

This is great. Thank you for taking the time to put all of this together. I am seriously thinking about trying to go on a buffalo hunt in the next five years and the caprivi is at the top of the list. When January comes around I will have to stop by Kowas booth at the DSC and get some more information.

If you had to do it all over again, is there anything you would do differently on this hunt?

Hunt an "own use elephant"(y)(y)(y)

Kowas only has trophy cape buffalo on quota in Mukango Camp. However, there were several bulls that were massive in body with their horns well worn. They, too, were truly old warriors. I also saw several that were 40+ inches in width. Here, you make the decision on what is a trophy.

Dzoti Camp, Jaques can do both trophy and own use hunts.

Do stop by the Kowas booth. Jaques and Elleni are extremely easy to visit with. They work very hard to make your adventure happen the way you want it to happen.

That is the beautiful thing about buffalo hunting, you decide what a trophy is.

Thanks again for sharing.

Congrats, that is an ancient Cape buffalo! Well done!

Looks like Kowas continues to take awesome care of their hunters while hunting fantastic, trophy rich areas. Congratulations on your hunt.

The Caprivi...a dream of a place to get to hunt for me! Thanks for sharing!

What a Buffalo! Congrats on one ugly old fellow! Well done.

Nice work on the videos too. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the presentation of your safari! Most enjoyable over a cup of coffee and a cigar. That old warrior of a buffalo is just spectacular. A true trophy in my book!

Awesome stuff COACH (y)

We need to start planning the Elephant hunt. Butttttt, it has to be done over a beer at DSC :D Beers:

It's an honor and privilege to guide you. You're long past the "client" phase.... Your family now! And I look forward to sharing lots of campfires with you.

My Best,
Jacques

I’ll put a few on my coffee cart and we will talk.

It’s been a joy bringing Team Fet and Team Kowas together. Take care of the Pony Tail(y)
