Hmmm.......and is it auto?.......or did usa people know how to change gear manually back then?......:ROFLMAO:
It is manual, I would put money that there isn’t a kid born in the past 25 years that even knows what the hell it is!

I researched very carefully for my first safari and had a great time. I really want to get back there! Great people, great place! Proper self-sustaining kudu herd, affordable trophy fees on the indigenous species. Later I found-out that Craig has hunted there several times over the decades, and a couple of years ago they became one of these so-called endorsed outfits. Doesn’t put me off at all. It’s their business. And I want to get back there for my own unfinished business with a giant kudu I missed (well, his descendant, really).

Bit harsh I'd say. As pointed out, he's hardly unique in trying to make a living off his name. Jim Shockey, Ivan Carter, Johann Calitz, etc., all do the same. It's called a personal reputation . . .

Regardless of what you think of CB personally (we really don't need to rehash that again - if you'd like, just put in a link to the thread!), he has tons of experience and has been places most of us would love to go. He also hunts with some of the best PHs and in some of the best areas as well. In fact, I've hunted a couple areas where he's hunted, and as I later found out, with the same PH a couple of times. I'd recommend both the areas and the PHs to anyone looking for a great hunt . . . the fact that that a PH has hunted with CB is no reason to avoid the the individuals, or the areas.

The Ford Bullthrower338? Hell no I wouldn’t refuse! It would be a 72’ Bronco with a built 302, three on the tree and the interior would smell like burnt 4831 and bad decisions!

LOL right!!!! The Ol’ Hempy ‘76 CJ-5, w/ 304 V8, 4 Barrel, 3Speed, 34” Mickey T’s, chrome Duals racked by the glass packs. With the inside smelling like stale beer, a pile of panties & freedom!

Sorry to digress....

My son does as I’ve taught him to drive my ‘69 FJ40 w 3 on the tree. It’s what I learned to drive with on our farm.

3 on the tree is the best thing ever devised for the guy that frequently gets stuck, you can rock yourself out of a lot of bad spots with the location of reverse and first!

I have met him many times read a few of his books and hunted with one of his endorse outfitters and they were wonderful! If I liked the rifle and wanted to spend that money on it then I would. Yes, there are quite a few options out there, but it all boils down to what you like! Good luck with whatever you choose!

Oh shit, I better sell my No 1 Boddington Kudu. Someone might think I am a loser for owning it.

Egads, I have a No 1 Boddington Buffalo, as well.

What the hell was I thinking?

I paid at least an extra $100 for the rifles and all I got was a matte finish, nicer sights, cool chamberings and circassian walnut.

I better change my avatar, too. Don't want to be accused of being an advertisement for CB.

:E Laugh:

If you want a CZ 550 and are willing to pay $3200.00 for it then call the CZ custom shop have the action worked, the barrel cut to the length of YOUR choice in the caliber of YOUR choice and what other things you would like and then you can call it the Josh33333 special. Sounds like a better plan to me. Just sayin.

Three on the tree rocks. I learned to drive in our family's 1959 Chevy Belaire with three on three.:A Thumbs Up:

I’m seriously looking into getting my first big bore and starting out with a preference for the classic CZ 550. The customizations on the Boddington suit me quite well. I’m curious how those match up with other options, like buying a cz 550 and having American Hunting rifles making those same customizations for me. The Boddington has nice wood, shortend and recrowned barrel, barrel band, and action work. $3200 might be reasonable considering all those extras. Lemme know what you think based on your experiences. Thanks!

Hi, I had personal experience with two of the "Boddington Signature" rifles. I found both substandard rifles, neither could be classified out of the box suitable for dangerous game hunting. There may have been some that had decent wood, the ones that I had were made by boyd, cutting a barrel off, putting on a barrel band and re-attaching the sights does not make a dangerous game rifle. I do very much like CZ rifles after they have had a proper action and trigger job.

Hey, thanks! How was the stock profile? I’m i talks with a smith who can make the trigger and action work you suggested. He doesn’t work with stocks however. I like the looks of it, but never have I held on to one...

Have you handled a safari express m70? They seem to be an affordable and reliable option.
