Ouch! Thanks for the update!

Glad I already purchased for this years trip from SAA!

I purchased my tickets three weeks ago. Just another way to take advantage of us hunters!

Thank you for the update Lori. I would be interested to hear from the hunters on whether this swings your decision from bringing a rifle vs renting one.

With that fee schedule the math comes out to $260 USD for taking your gun to the EC.
They sure jumped on the fee bus.

Still have to think that the main carrier to South Africa will be either Delta/Air Canada.

British Airways
KLM

That's the way I read it also. And tack on another $60 ($30 each way) if your going to Zim, Zam, Moz, etc. (n)

Definitely not BA, they charge 100 quid per firearm and ammunition per journey. So return that's 400 quid.

BA's fees depend on the country of origin.
It was less than the SAA fees last time I flew.
Who knows, maybe they upped their fees as well.

For those that use SAA, I don't believe it's a deal breaker. I was ten pounds over on a Delta 201 and they whacked me $100 excess baggage fee (I couldn't stuff any more in my carry-on bags.) It is what it is.

Thanks Lori!

It will be sweet for a little while when Delta sees and influx in numbers of fliers they will up ticket prices. Delta is a little more expensive but service far superior than SAA.

I've wondered how many safari bound fliers are dumping Delta and SAA and using Qatar and Emirates.

I’d still bring my own.
Just another corporate money grab.

Thanks for the update! So many people working against hunters, so frustrating.
