Gun broker conceal permits out if Virginia

I have received this offer several times recently when I would open the GB site. I never followed through on it....1. I don't trust it and 2. I don't need it. I guess I should say though that for the past 1 or 2 months GB has been trying to get me to enter to win various firearms and other firearm related items. I ignore them.

To get a carry permit you have to go through your local law enforcement department. I don't see how GB is connected to that. Sounds like a scam.

Contact Gunbroker directly and ask if they are offering anything of the sort or at all.
Otherwise I'd assume its a phishing expedition.

I don't get anything like that when I go to their site and I am there a couple of times a week.

You might want to dump your cookies for Gunbroker and if you haven't done it for your whole computer you might do that also. I am running a add blocker but even with it disabled I don't get anything about CC in Virginia, but I do get a few other adds that pop up on the right hand side..

I see ads occasionally, other places in addition to Gunbroker seeming to offer a class in getting a concealed carry permit. I applied for a CCP in WA state about forty years ago and then again about five years ago and there was nothing about the process that would have been aided by a class on the subject. It was fill-in the form, have a background check completed and that was it. No proficiency or knowledge test. Not sure if that is part of the deal in the more civilized areas.

In NV to get or renew a CCW we have to have 8 hours classroom work then an in the field proficiency test of so many rounds. The instructor sets the field work to meet or exceed state standards. Their may be some scenario stuff, too. The permit is good for 5 years.

All the states are a little bit different. The interesting thing about the CC permits are which states are reciprocal between other states. My neighbor state of Utah has one of the best as far as other states that honor it and they issue a lot of permits to out of state folks just for that reason.

Here in Colorado you just have to take a CC class which doesn't amount to very much except for the cost of it. I learned more from my dad before I was ever allowed to shoot a .22 rifle.
