Ive hunted some nice kudu over 3 safaris and many years. All kudu are nice to hunt. I am interested however in a 55" plus kudu and am willing to put in the days for it. Ive hunted a number of places in ZA so far. Prefer the largest possible area so fences are not a hindrance to the hunt.
Other species of interest are
bushbuck
common reedbuck
nyala 28"+
Vaal Rhebock and Barbary sheep also of interest but I think areas with big southern greater kudu wont match these latter two species.
I always hunt impala/springbok and am looking for exceptional ones
Open to suggestions on what species an area is known for.

Prefer a minimum of 10 to 12 days hunting.

Cheers
Ali.

Dear Ali
We have a area on the drakensberg, close to the town of Ohrigstad where we have taken some really big Kudu, 59" so far has been the biggest. If you come during the rut you will have a pretty good chance at 55" +
The area is mountainous and about 20 000 acres.

Good Day Ali

We have access to various concessions ranging from 4000 acres and up, that we are confident in finding the Kudu that you want.We are also in area in Limpopo where you will find excellent Bushbuck and common Reedbuck.

You are more than welcome to email me rouannel@mweb.co.za.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Rouan

I can help you Sir with the list, We have big Impala and we have great Kudu hunting areas and you will have a kudu experience along the Crocodile River and Water-bergs, Please PM me or let me know so we can send you a Deal. Go visit Photo gallery to see some of our Kudu picks.

I am on the way home now from hunting with Limpopo Big Game Safaris in Limpopo near Louis Trickard and I know Bossie has kudu that size plus on a 13,000 acre place that is mountainous so you must be fit. He also has great Nyala and I personally saw several fantastic Bushbucks while night hunting other species.

Just prior to this hunt with Bossie, I hunted barbary sheep, vaal Rhebok, Cape Greysbok, and shot some great springbok with Lalapa Safaris, Ray Kemp's outfit, I hunted with PH Ed Wilson. Free range although there are remnants of high fence where the sheep are, they don't slow them down. Very large area with a lot of sheep but you may need to cover some ground. One of the best stalks of my life;)

Hi
AcionBob mentioned Ray Kemps outfit - Lalapa Safaris. He runs a very good operation and has the animals you look for. The Eastern Cape is also a fantastic place to harvest the Sheep, Bushbuck, Nyala, Common and Vaalie, in fact all your animals. He has very good Kudu as well!
Look him up and give him a call.
Good luck with your hunt - sounds like a really good hunt with a good variety of animals.
Cheers

Nice trophies Bob, congrats.

For the East Cape they do have fantastic kudu. But you should not expect the monsters they can have farther North.

I cannot say enough good about that Aoudad hunt. If you book something with Lalapa, inquire about the Aoudad and consider adding a day or two to hunt one. They are not as big as you can get in Texas, but the experience is fantastic and the scenery and landscapes are great. And even though they are ot indigenous there, at least you are hunting them on the right continent;)

Holy crap 26! LOL

so get busy action Bob we are axious

You are going to need another house - extension - something. (y)
I think he just built that "other" house 3-4 years ago. @ActionBob, you have gotten completely out of control!

Dang! 26 is a lot.
Back to the OP. If I recall correctly KMG picked a new concession in the Limpopo with some huge Kudu too. Like mentioned Bossie has advertised some big bulls available too.

Bossie actually works with Marius of KMG. Bossie is based in Limpopo and Marius in the EC. Bossie asked if Marius had responded to this before he gave the go ahead to talk about his opportunities. They seem to have a good working relationship and respect for each other.

Can I ask..... are you shopping or hunting?

I'll reply to this last post before the OP gets around to it. A smart ass comment like that won't win you any friends around here. We tend to try to avoid starting fights and arguments.
Some of us have been to africa a few times and would like to upgrade some of our trophies. We want to hunt in areas where that may be possible. If your hunting a concession where the biggest Kudu taken in the last 5 yrs is 54 inches then thats not the place the OP wants to be for a bigger bull. I still expect to HUNT and hunt hard for that trophy. I'll get up at 4AM and go till full dark. I want to smell the air and hear the rock doves. I want to participate in finding my animals. On my safaris I have spotted some of the animals I've taken before the PH and others there have seen them.
Here is part of the debate. I have taken enough of the plains game animals that I'm looking for trophies and not representative animals. I would like to upgrade. So maybe I pay a little more and shoot fewer animals on the trip. My safari so thats my right. If I'm paying a "trophy" fee then I hope I'm getting a trophy. If I'm paying a kill fee then thats different.
If you don't agree, thats fine move on. There will be PH's that don't have the quality of animals that the OP wants and thats fine too. What the OP is asking for, in my mind at least, is to hunt a property where he may have the opportunity to hunt his version of a trophy.
I will also submit that the harder you work for a trophy the more it means to you. My Bighorn was taken in the afternoon of the 10th day of a 10 day hunt. Well over 150 miles of horseback riding. Thats a hunt that I remember well. To end my rant sir, I'll say that I thought your comment uncalled for and in poor taste.
Bruce
