Big Bore Addiction Group

I am seriously considering that very option. Since I have no one on my back saying NO, I can do that. I have a MRC 30-06 coming later this month which will keep my 375 company. With a MRC 404J African and the 06 that will be a perfect battery for my next safari. Plus, look at the investment perspective. I just hope my adoration of big(ger) bores doesn't bite me too hard.

PS. Above post to Dr. Bullthrower. Thanks, Doc.

Sold my Kimber 308 yesterday. Got a good price for it.....

Internal thoughts..

Sako 450 Rigby now???
Or.....Sako 9.3x62???
Say what? Sell the Marlin 45/70 and buy another safe to put the 2 new Sakos in?
Sounds reasonable.....
Oh wait.....remember that New Haven Winchester 70 in 458WM you were looking at yesterday? Seems like a good deal....Has the old style trigger too....
Hmmm....(sips beer)...
I wonder if I should consolidate some less expensive rifles and get one really nice rifle? Maybe a Heym Martini in 404....
Yea that sounds really nice! Oh wait....that stock is way too nice to scratch up in the back of the safari truck.
Guess I could have McMillan make a spare stock for it.....
But then.....which rifle will you take to Africa this year? You know your other rifles will get jealous, right?

Hmmmm..... (takes shot of bourbon)....

You’re in trouble. I suggest a Balvennie on ice and a slow draw on a Rocky Patel before proceeding.

This damn Africa Hunting club is causing me all kinds of problems. I started reading it and the next thing I knew I was booking a safari. Fine, I thought. I'll go once. No such luck. I read all sorts of Cape Buffalo stories here and got an awful itch. Everyone here said, "Oh, you can't hunt buf without a shoulder fired cannon". Soo I had to get a boomer. Started with a Win Safari Express in 375HH. All well and good I thought--at the time. I got my buf but then got hooked on the idea of a "real classic African caliber." Now I have this almost insufferable urge to acquire a MRC in 404 Jeff, of which I have been enamored for some time. I find myself going to Africa Hunting just to pull up the photo of MRC's African rifle and stare at it. Do I have an addiction to bigger bores? Do I need some kind of therapy? What are my chances of survival of this affliction?

The only way to survive is to give into the urge to Buy!

What model ‘06 did ya order

I got the American Legends at the SCI show in Reno. I had no intention of buying another rifle but when I looked at it and handled it I was a goner. After all, I don't have an 06 and Ron gave me such a good deal on it I couldn't refuse. A good discount plus A grade Turkish walnut. I mentioned I am going to Africa in April and he told Tom to make damn sure I had my rifle no later than 15 March. I anxiously wait and count the days.

Before I bought mine, I was looking at a 9.3 x 62 lefty on the rack. While we were doing the paperwork Craig Boddington came and Ron gave him that rifle. It was a special order for Craig and it is a beaut. So I got to play with Craig Boddington's special order rifle.

I have an ALR in 300 H&H and sold several in 375 H&H. They are a sweet rifle! Hope you love it Boomer!

Committed to buy an AHR #3 450 Dakota today.

Brass is on the way.

Need to get serious about some dies.

Have several thousand bullets and two lifetime supplies of powder and primers.

Oh, and still married! Compromise is not a dirty word, when it comes to your wife!

She was nervous about the Dakota, but ok'd the AHR....so away we go.

Now I have a totally redundant RSM in 458 Lott.

It's a fine sickness...

My .416 and .375 RSM’s are saving a spot in the safe for a .458 Lott, so... ;)

You do know that Whatsuuup is part of a Communist plot to enslave the world, right??

It works on the same principle as baiting pigs with corn.

And to think...I spent 4 of the best years of my life trying to protect you from the Commies and now you are inviting them into your home!

Sadly you are not the first person to tell me they have wasted the best years of their life on me (n)
And yeah, I am a closet Bernie and AOC supporter :E Lol:

If you are a Bernie supporter, maybe it's time to redistribute some of those rifles to the less fortunate like myself! You filthy 1%er!

I had to google "momo".

I have no idea what the heck that was all about.

But yeah...if staying off Whatsuuup keeps the momo away, I guess that is good!

I thought Momo made wheels for cars.... ;)
