Anyone here shoot an SR30?

Its the age old gun nut problem. I dont need it, but it looks like a nice little toy and its cheap...

Its a 30-06

Most info on the net is positive. But would like to hear from someone that shoots one.

Cheers.

Dear Roan,

yes I do have a SR30 in .308. Most of the time I use it for driven hunts on wild boar. It´s a great tool and the reloading process is very smooth and fast when you did a littlebit of training. I can recommend it and I use it the last 3 years without a problem. Due to the special lock it is a very safe gun and it´s a "Handspanner" System in German so you can carry it loaded and then you just press the bolt lever forward and it is ready to shoot. Mine looks like this. And it is accurate. Try it and you won´t be dissapointed.

Best regards
Achim

Thanks for the feedback! Nice looking rifle! Like the aim point.
I think I just might have to go get it.

I have one in 30-06, 20” barrel and love it. Fantastic trigger.

I shoot an SR-30 in .308 it's been my main hunting rifle for 6 years. It has a stainless barrel and is more accurate than me. Fantastic rifle. Does the rifle you are looking at a scope and mounts? If not Talley makes bases/rings for it.

Good to hear it’s accurate most articles I have read also said it was quite accurate.
It doesnt have rings or atleast I think it doesnt come with a set, but I was planning on using Talley anyway.
Thanks for your feedback.

Good choice.

Awesome piece of machining with a novel bolt lock-up. A mate of mine has one in 9.3x62- I’ve hassled him several times to sell it to me, sadly with no effect!

Done! :A Thumbs Up::A Thumbs Up:

I just bought my first SR30.

Now the long wait for license approval!!

You bought a rifle and and than you wait for license approval,.... ???

Would not it be better to have the license first?

What will happen when you do not get a license?

HWL

HWL that is the way it is done in South Africa. Think of it as being put on Lay -Away, only instead of making the last payment before receiving the rifle you have to present your "Official Approval" from the government to buy it.

Like Shootist43 says. Here tou have to license every firearm. It a pain!! And takes about 3 months for approval. Africa time....

If your license isn’t approved you can appeal the decision. It’s never happened to me though. As long as you motivate the reason for wanting the firearm properly you will get your license.

Cheers

Sir that is a good looking rifle!

Beautiful rifle! Love the stock. Do I hear the bolt is ball bearing driven?
